Description: In our craft beer bar and garden U KUNSTATU we offer close to 100 craft beers from small and mid size local independent breweries. We were one of the first craft beer bars in the country and only one located directly in the oldest part of Prague just a few steps from Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. Our beer menu is changing together with beer season and actual offer of the best Czech breweries. We offer customized beer samplers, beer delicacies and tapas which you can enjoy at our bar or in our beautifull garden. THE PALACE U KUNSTATU Of Romanesque origins, and dating from around 1120, our home, the palace U Kunstatu is located on a hidden cul-de-sac in the oldest part of the Old Town. Our underground palace is best preserved romanesque 12th century building in central Europe, It is both a UNESCO protected monument and a ‘time machine’ of architectural styles.

On our first night in Prague what better to do than sample the local beer and cuisine... and here we found an ideal solution to both needs.

We sat in a pleasant cobbled courtyard (it might have benefitted from some ambient lighting) and tried the sampler menu of beers - six of their choice on a wooden rack from light beers to dark porter. This gave a really effective way of helping us to decide which we liked best. For us, it was definitely the lighter end of the scale. The waiter told us the draft beer at U Kunstatu is the best in Czech and we have no reason to doubt him.

We also chose the special farmer’s sausage and a meat plate. Served with bread, pickles, mustard and horseradish. It was delicious and fresh.

Thoroughly recommended as a great place to drop in to while you are exploring Prague

Great place to spend an hour or so, very nice, different to have a fruit beer on the mix but not unwelcome. Didn’t eat, partner had wine which was also good, waiters friendly and informative.

U Kunstatu is tucked away, just around the corner from Choco Cafe. The staff are really knowledgeable about all the beers they stock and can advise on selections. You also have the option of 'flights' of 6 beers at a time...great way to explore their extensive beer list. Food is simple (platters of hot or cold sausages, all Czech, all delicious). Too good to only go once :)

If it is beer that pleases your palate, then saunter over to this casual bistro just minutes away from the crowds of Old Towne Square. Craft beers on tap and in bottles - bottles & bottles & more bottles of the nectar of the gods. Service is friendly & knowledgeable; beer tastings are offered; a pleasant little outdoor area is a bonus. Although a somewhat limited food menu, the offerings are all perfect compliments to what is most important - the beer. And the most perfect of these perfect compliments is the heavenly pate served with toasted brown bread, fresh cranberries, and pickles. My one complaint is that this pate is not exported to the USA …

Had a great evening with family here. Tasted 12 kinds of beers (2 sets with 6 beers each) selected by resturant staff, and they were very good and different, also the beers snacks were so tasty. Hope to come back soon.
