As a recommendation from our tour guide, Neil, Strahov was a really great pace for dinner and beers. Food is amazing but in humongous serving. We had the ribs, pork hock roast and the sausages.... All really really yummy yet affordable. Beers at the place are also good.

My family climbed to the Strahov Monastery following our arrival in Prague. This restaurant (which is the same as what Trip Advisor lists separately as “Strahov Monastic Brewery”) was recommended to me by friends who had visited Prague in 2017. There are two restaurants right next to each other at this location, and it’s not immediately obvious where one starts and the other ends. This one is superb. Friendly staff, great food and beer. The other, Velka Klasterni Restaurace, is not (surly staff, questionable food). As silly as it sounds, make sure you’re in the right restaurant when at the monastery.

First if you are staying in the Old Town, take an Uber up to the Monastery in the morning and you will enjoy your day so much easier especial if it is a hot day. Having a beer here was part of our daily to do list. We also ordered the pickled cheese. The beer was great the pickled cheese not too much. It became a daring contest to finish it. None-the-less we enjoyed our time in this distillery! Go Monks!

We found this place on recommendation from a tour guide. It was off the beaten path and a bit tricky to find, but well worth the search. The brews beer at the monastery and only serves it at the restaurant. My husband liked the wheat beer best. I had the goat cheese salad, which was the best meal I ate in Prague and my husband had the ribs and he said they were excellent. We had the apple strudel for dessert which was amazing.

The best Goulash and pork ribs ever! The beer is even more delicious! Cheers! Must try. We tried the crompets for desert, which were awesome as well.
