It takes about an hour to complete the tour up to the top and down to the secondary gate it is worth for the clear signboard and legends about history of the manufact and all the main buildings. At the bottom of the rock just above the last civilian houses of Myrina, we saw a couple of young deers like Bamby of Disney.

Fabulous views A wonderful maze of ruins and so interesting. There are two ways up, the main route and the side entrance reached from a path running up from 'Romeo' Taverna. A very large area to cover and paths not always easy.

Let's put it this way: if you stayed in Myrina for just a few hours and you had time to visit just one or two things, the castle is a hands-down must. The views are stunning (particularly at sunset), and there are quite a few things on the rock itself worth noticing. The few dozen deer grazing on the rock are a bonus - it might be a bit hard locating one, as they are experts at hiding away from people, but this will only make it more rewarding.

Keep in mind, however, that it's a somewhat physically demanding attraction. There's walking involved, and if you truly want to enjoy the 360-deg view, be prepared for some mild climbing as well.

Lovely walk up, the 360 degree views are wonderful.
Great in the evening for the sunset.
There is also a lovely bar half way down back towards the town.

Apart from the walls facing the town there is not a lot more left of the castle. But the view is grand. And it is amusing to look at the goats that fearless climb the rocks. And if you are lucky you might come across a deer or two – don't know who was the most surprised: the deer or me.
