“Perfect family holiday destination!”
Reviewed 15 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We had a wonderful family holiday in April, with Maridadi and the surrounding area keeping everyone aged 70 to 17 months very happy!

Maridadi is a home from home. Where many villa rentals are a bit soulless, Maridadi feels warm and welcoming. With plenty of space, an amazing kitchen to whip up delicious food (or access to a cook if you're feeling lazy!), and a cosy sitting room, this is a great place to go even if the Spanish weather is not at its best. On the cooler days, it's just as relaxing to sit by the lovely open fire and read, admiring the stunning gardens and looking out at the mountains beyond.

Of course, when that wonderful sunshine comes the large pool is fantastic and you can dine al fresco on the beautiful terrace while keeping an eye on the kids splashing about (and great to have a pool alarm just in case).

Ronda is a short drive away, with it's world famous bridge and bull ring. The beautiful 'white villages' are also easily accessible for a wander round some lovely historical communities with amazing views.

Maridadi has everything you could possibly need on hand and is extremely comfortable for a family or group of friends to spend time together or exploring Andalusia. The hosts. Robert and Caroline, are always available to answer questions, suggest restaurants or sights, or to help arrange a massage, a cook or a tour, really helping you get the best out of your stay.

I would heartily recommend a visit to Maridadi for a wonderful mix of home comforts, spectacular scenery, fantastic food and easy access to some of Spain's most beautiful sights.

“As luxurious as the photos show!”
Reviewed 13 November 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a lovely week here in August, we were three families, all of us with kids under 6. The child friendly villa is absolutely as luxurious as the photos show and has everything you would expect from a five star property – all the little extras: cappuccino machine, wifi, sky TV, lovely big ceiling fans, and outdoor solar heated hot shower which was so convenient for the kids at the end of the day. The spectacular picture postcard town of Ronda is a convenient 5-10min drive away. Plenty of vineyards in the immediate vicinity, and we had a lot of fun wine tasting one afternoon – you can just turn up unannounced (well, we did anyway). We felt like we could have stayed for a month! Not being near a beach didn’t matter to us thanks to the big pool, which is big enough to do decent lengths to work off indulgent dinners. Day trips to the beach are doable, Marbella was about an hour’s drive away. All in all, I would highly recommend. Note that hiring a car is essential, especially if you want to eat out in evening - there are several very good restaurants within 15-20min drive, all at about half the price you would expect in England.

Liked best: Feels like somebody's home rather than a holiday rental
Liked least: Don't take the slightly hairy steep back road to Ronda if it's been raining!

“Finca Maridadi is quite simply sublime. THE most perfect house in THE most perfect location.”
Reviewed 22 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Finca Maridadi is quite simply sublime. THE most perfect house in THE most perfect location.

The setting is superb, deep in the heart of the breathtaking Andalucian countryside just to the East of historic Ronda. The house itself is first and foremost a home - and elegantly betrays its former role as one.

Appointed exactly as one would choose for one's own holiday retreat, it has absolutely everything that one could wish for. A wonderful pool with ample terrace forms the amphitheatre for both relaxation and (child-induced) high jinx. The terrace is where everything happens - from breakfast through to the quaffing of excellent local wines late into the evening. Downstairs, the kitchen is perfect - with space to dine - and the sitting room has oodles of DVDs, Sky Sports etc for downtime during the heat of the day. Upstairs, the rooms are large and airy with plenty of bathrooms. The gardens are stunning and kept immaculately by the splendid Lawrence, an expat motorcycle enthusiast and all round good egg, who visits daily.

The local area is dominated by beautiful Ronda. A favourite of Hemingway and Welles, this jewel has plenty to see, a bewildering array of restaurants, but also all the practical stuff like supermarkets to keep Maridadi suitably victualled. It is just over an hour north of Malaga Airport and about the same from Marbella beach should the lure of the coast prove too much to resist. There are also a profusion of amazing restaurants in the countryside around Maridadi, to which Robert and Caroline can provide details and tips. A trip to one or two of the bodegas (all within 5 miles) can prove a rewarding, if somewhat squiffy, experience as well.

So, all in all, it is simply a 'must visit'. You'll love it...

“Fantastic House in Stunning Part of Spain”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Very sad to be leaving this fantastic house in the beautiful Ronda valley. We decided to take the house with a group of friends as it promised to offer a great entertaining space with large, comfortable bedrooms for 10 guests and it didn't disappoint. The house is set in the most beautiful grounds, (tended to by the ever helpful Lawrence who even took us out on a guided road trip through the valley to some incredible Andalucian villages), with a huge pool and sun terrace. Everything has been thought of here and so the house is perfectly (and very stylishly!) equipped. Very comfortable beds with beautiful linen. Ceiling fans in every room to keep the heat at bay. The owners clearly treat this house as a home.

It couldn't have been better positioned to explore the local area including Ronda itself which is a beautiful city. Great local restaurants are all pointed out by the ever helpful Caroline and Robert who run the house fantastically. A very cheerful couple who couldn't have done more to help.

Very tempted to rent it again next year - thank you Maridadi for a wonderful time!
