“great house great location”
Reviewed 27 January 2015 for a stay in July 2014

Awesome house in a quiet part of Rincon just a few minutes from Sandy Beach. The house is well kept and the salt water pool is fantastic. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

“This is the place you want”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here seven nights- we are a family of five (2 year old, 7 year old and 14 year old). Great place. Awesome pool. Less than a five minute walk to a great beach, fantastic restaurants, cool shops- but still rural and quiet. Owners are great. Perfect place for children. Sandy Beach is right at the bottom of the hill the house is located on- five minute walk or a one minute drive (walking back up will take you longer). You want a car if you are renting this place- but it is worth it. A place called Steps Beach is five minute drive- great snorkeling and a great place for little kids (no waves)- and there is a food truck there with amazing empanadas (octopus, lobster, grouper- mouth watering delights).

At the bottom of the hill is Sandy Beach with some small restaurants, a couple of beach bars, a beach sop, a food truck, a surf boar/paddle board/kayak rental stall and a couple of very small hotels- not touristy at all- sort of genuine and gritty- if you have traveled to the South Pacific or smaller beach locations in Asia (Thailand etc.) - it is a similar feel.

Around the corner (away from the beach in the direction of town) is a great coffee shop (about a 3 minute drive) called "BD Cafe"- looks like the ground floor of a house with an neon "open" sign in the window- but once you walk in it is modern coffee shop with an amazing barista- perfect cappuccinos. Several excellent restaurants in the area too. Ask the owner for recommendations.

Grocery stores are about a ten minute drive- everything you could need.

There are multiple fully stocked pharmacies in town- a ten minute drive away, and also a mini hospital/emergency care facility (ambulance entrance etc.). Hopefully that wont matter, but if something happens- it is there.

The owner also gave us referrals to affordable baby sitters so my wife and I could go out several times. Really trustworthy and good people.

The place itself is comfortable. Two bedrooms with their own bathrooms- each bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed- excellent mattresses- and both rooms have air conditioning, and then their is a common area that has a sitting room and a kitchen- which leads out to a large tiled porch that is the dining area. The porch has two super comfortable hammocks, a table and chairs to comfortably seat six, a clean gas grill, and steps down to the pool. The pool is nice- the pool goes from 2 1/2 feet deep to 5 feet deep- perfect for kids and a decent size too...table and lounge chairs around the pool.

It was a great vacation, a perfect beach house off the beaten path. Keep in mind that it is a tropical climate and the apartment (lower floor of a three story house) isn't a five star hotel- but it met all our needs and was very comfortable. There may be blackouts- but the generator kicks in immediately- enough for the tv, fridge, lights, fans, and even the air conditioners. The appliances are not brand new- show signs of wear- but they work perfectly fine. The kitchen is functional, and their are utensils and pots and pans- also perfectly functional and clean.

The town is great- sort of a mix of ex-pat surfer/artist types and locals- definitely a friendly surfer vibe going on- reminds me of the North Shore in Oahu- but more country and isolated- which is great.

I am very happy I rented this place. I am hard to please. I was very pleased.

“Return to the hidden gem in the Rincon hills”
Reviewed 12 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Hosts Tiffany and Billy are friendly, easy-going US-main landers who will make your stay even more valuable with local tips and directions. They are involved in several enterprises and hook you up with excursions, boating, diving, etc. Dos Culebras is hidden in the hilly country side between Aguada and Rincon.
Use your GPS: N 18.21.876 W067.15.419. It's a three hour drive from SJU airport. Their 3-story home is built on a slope and one rents the lowest floor, containing two bedrooms with a separate bathroom each and a central living room/kitchen. The large covered balcony serves as dining room behind much greenery, overlooking the pool (with new tile design) and a small green valley. The hammock invites to book and/or dozing. Tiffany's pictures on the internet are 100% accurate. Furniture is new. Both bedrooms (with each two beds) have an A/C unit, the center space has fans. The Rental is in good shape, though kitchen utensils, pans, etc. would benefit from rejuvination or replacement. There is a nice and appreciated supply of kitchen basics like cooking oil, S&P, plastic cups, foil, etc. Having the private pool is a great asset, as is the close proximity to many lonesome beaches (at least in the off-season). It may rain daily for an hour or so, but that's what the beach restaurants and cervezas are for. Calypso makes a great fish sandwich. The Red Flamboyan restaurant is excellent, Mofongo and Ruladen highly recommended. The host family lives on the main and top floors, and kids, dogs and cats are around - all pleasant and not interrupting. Cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and snorkel fins were provided. Parking is on the property behind the gate. Coffee shop and Bakeries are in the little Puntas village a few minutes by car. Full size supermarket about 20 minutes in Rincon. And do not rent a full-size car!! Streets are very narrow without shoulder, turns are sharp and Puerto Ricans seem to like to drive in the middle of the road, and race their horses on them at night. Enjoy - you can not go wrong with this one

“Lovely,relaxing vacation”
Reviewed 30 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

My daughter,a friend and myself just returned from a lovely week at Tiffany and Billy's home. Their description on Tripadvisor was totally a fair representation of their property. I found the location very convenient, quiet and peaceful. The apartment was spacious with nice linens and furniture. Tiffany and Billy could not have been more helpful about any questions or concerns we raised.I would not hesitate to stay with them again if i have the pleasure to return to Rincon.
