The Mill House can not be surpassed on a lovely summer's day. The setting is superb!
Three of us had lunch.... the food is well presented with a huge choice to suit all tastes, very varied and plentiful. I was a bit disappointed that crispy baby squid was coated in breadcrumbs and not described as such, however everything else was super , well cooked and tasty. Table staff were efficient and friendly, the woman behind the bar was officious and tried to hurry us, bad mistake! demanded the table number as if we should have known before going to the bar to order! This was unnecessary and detracted from a relaxed lunchtime. Yes, it was busy, but if you work in the leisure industry you should always put the customer first! we can always choose to go somewhere else.

Perfect summer day and although we were a party of seven and had booked in the restaurant, there was no problem when asked to be seated outside.
Order at the bar and then table service. Good menu and quality and quantity of food. Steak sandwich was brilliant. Good range of specialist beers and good quality. Good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at right temperature.
Beautiful setting with large lake containing ducks and large trout. Plenty of children activities. God way to spend a Sunday.

Sat outside by the millpond for a few drinks then had the chicken liver pate and burger in the restaurant. The burger seemed quite expensive at £13 ish but was very nicely done and included the cheese and bacon that is charged extra at some places.

Some really nice cider and ales on tap, lovely location, the river running through the restaurant is always a highlight for guests to the area.

Service is good, food good, not too adventurous menu but fairly reasonable. Will be back soon I'm sure!

Tip: The butternut squash and sage soup is lovely - made it twice since trying it here. Easy to make at home too (roast the squash first, don't just boil like some recipes say!)

had a wedding here. great venue as ate in main pub and then there is a small party barn on the land which you repair to for a boogie. food was really good across the board which isn't easy for mass production and the staff were lovely albeit a couple of the bar staff got a bit chippy when it got busy. nice venue and lovely beer garden with a lake and kids play area.

My husband drives past here every day en route to work so deceived to book us in for Sunday lunch .
Although it was Fathers Day and they were really busy the food and services was perfect .

I had the roast beef, my husband the lamb and both very excellent . I've always found vegetables a problem when places are so busy...usually soggy and tasteless but everything about our lunches were perfect.

The sweet menu looked more then tempting but we were just unable to do one justice after such a delicious and filling main!

The Mill House is set in lovely gardens with a pond and seating areas . Shame it was just a bit too cold to sit out!!

We will definitely be back very soon.
