Used to use this pub for the regular jazz on Thursday evenings-a wonderful B&B next to the car park over the bridge was very useful. Went back after a 10 year gap to see how it's changed, and we're so glad that it hasn't! Great atmosphere with regulars, dogs and walkers. You won't find a better range of real ales, stacked up at the rear of the bar. Also, a wide selection of fruit wines. The food is wholesome and filling. It seems to feast the eyes before the belly, but don't look for chips on the menu. You wont need them anyway.Log fires always set off a pub, and a good pub this is-though not a restaurant.I've still got the only gripe I ever had with the Boat, and thats that at some time I've got to go home.I love it there.
