“Pleasant on the outside but a few niggles which the owner chose to ignore”

I must first of all say that we enjoyed our stay in this delightful village, the local pub was very friendly with great food and wine and the other half enjoyed the vast selection of real ales, however the Hideaway had a few niggles which I did email the owner to politely point out but was studiously ignored.
The toilet seat was very loose and could be dangerous.
The key for the door was very stiff and hard to open, at first we did not thing we were going to get in.
A curtain on the kitchen window would be a good idea as we had no bathrobes with us so had to get dressed to go to the kitchen and make a cup of tea.
There was a damp musty smell and the wall just inside the bathroom was actually wet, we tried to open the bathroom window to let some air in but couldn't open it
A full length mirror would be useful and/or a mirror near to a socket for doing hair.
Some wine glasses would be a useful addition in the kitchen
The wardrobe is very short and I had two long dresses that we were unable to hang up, also the ironing board is diagonally stored in the wardrobe so not much room to hang anything
We were only left one toilet roll so had to buy another to ensure we did not run out.
As I sad we did enjoy our two day stay but will not stay again unless these niggles were sorted out and as we have not heard back from the owner unfortunately that will not happen.

We had been let down by another establishment and needed somewhere
in the Scampton area at short notice for a weekend break - what a find!
The property enjoys a quiet location in Scampton. If there is one draw
back it is that there is no off road parking. However as we found out it is
situated in a very quiet road. On the plus side you are only a few minutes
walk from The Dambusters pub - well worth a visit.
The property itself is neat, tidy, clean and reasonably well maintained..
There is a large comfortable double bed and a small dining area. The
ensuite is a bath with shower over. There is small kitchen with a reasonable
selection of plates, cutlery etc.
The outlook is into a nice small communal garden.
Would definitely look to use again if we needed a base in the Lincoln area.

Had a lovely romantic stay in one of the hideaway properties. We were asked to upgrade by the owner at no extra charge as they had another booking needing ground floor accommodation. Comfy bed peaceful surroundings and beautiful cottage. Had a lovely day in Lincoln which is a short drive away and enjoyed an evening meal at the dambusters inn which is walking distance.

“Tranquill surrounds”

A beautiful boutique place, it has one of the best beds in any hotel. Nice finishes and excellent service from management. The garden is nice and it is located right next to the red arrows base meaning free shows of them practicing most days.
