“Could not be bettered”
Reviewed 6 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed for a couple of nights last week. There is really not much more to be said than the heading above: everything was pretty much perfect. The place is spacious and spotless, well-planned, well-kept, well-presented. It's on a quiet and leafy road about ten minutes walk from the town centre, so fine for both access to town and for peace and quiet.

The charming and helpful owners asked for feedback for improvements, and the only thing we could think of was to point out that one of the bathroom soap dispensers had jammed. If you want to stay in comfort in Pemberton, this is the place.

“A true home away from home!”
Reviewed 2 March 2015 for a stay in September 2014

Absolutely delightful, warm and welcoming holiday house! The house is located in a quite secluded area just out of Pemberton, surrounded by a pretty gardens, friendly chooks and kookaburras. Everything has been well thought out. Plenty of cutlery, kitchen gear and gizmos, fluffy dressing gowns and blankets etc. Fresh eggs every day is a real treat and a lovely fresh fruit platter awaited us upon our arrival. Big bedrooms, comfy beds and spotless, well equipped bathrooms. Large lounge area and plenty of places to sit and enjoys the views. Kathy was lovely and showed us around the house when we arrived and managed to handle my son's 20 questions! Top quality furnishings and a well designed holiday home. Delightful place to stay.

“Relaxing, spoilt by owners, lovely area”
Reviewed 1 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

What a great and warm welcome from Kathy n Don! Fresh fruit platter, espresso coffee, milk, fresh laid eggs, complimentary wine".........my new favourite Kathy ensured our 12 and two 10 year olds were welcome to not only feed their chooks but collect eggs, hand feed kookaburras, and borrow swimming noodles, boogie boards and sand board!
Fun time had by all ie sand boarding, climb golouster tree/diamond tree, swam at spring fed pool, ate fresh Marion, 4WDing, coffee factory, patted baby Aussie wildlife , tram ride to waterfalls.
Marri House plenty big enough and close to cafe, grocery shop, butcher, bottleo, and attractions!

“A beautiful home with lovely host”
Reviewed 13 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We had a wonderful stay in Marri House. It is truly a home away from home. It is absolutely everything you need for a fabulous stay. Kathy and Don were very welcoming. From a beautiful fruit tray with a great variety of fruit on the dining table to fresh eggs and milk in the fridge, we can’t ask for more. My younger daughter especially enjoyed going to Kathy’s house (which is next door) for feeding the Kookaburras.

The house was spotlessly clean, well designed and with an eye on detail. The kitchen was very well equipped. We cooked every night throughout our stay. While enjoyed strolling out to town and bush tracks during the day, we stayed up later and later each night for family board games and Wii together. We had a memorable stay in Marri House.

“A class above the rest”
Reviewed 22 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

As Americans who've lived in Aus for four years but always knew our stay down under would come to an end, we have seen many portions of this great land. Almost every time we've stayed in self accommodation and none have impressed us like Marri House. Don and Kathy were very welcoming and attentive to our motley bunch ranging in age from 22-months to 77-years-old, and even had an assortment of fresh food for us that we arranged ahead and threw straight on the barbie on arrival.

Houses we've rented in the past have had few utensils in the kitchen, or dull knives, or have been drafty. Nothing like that will bother anyone staying in this beautiful, new, and well appointed spot close to town yet snug in the southwestern forest. Everything in the house is top quality and they have thought of everything (there are even wooden tongs with the toaster in case you are toasting something small)!

Our kids enjoyed the kids channels on Foxtel, as well as Kathy kindly inviting our older one to help collect eggs from the hens for us to take home. My wife and mother-in-law enjoyed the two Kookaburras which always seemed happy to come and say hello.

Even if there was nothing to see and do in Pemberton I think we'd want to go back to what felt like a perfect combination of bed and breakfast (the welcome and attentiveness), resort (robes, custom touches, and fresh fruit platter), and self catering (a quite spot with everything you need).

I've been too lazy to write reviews of other places in the past but this place warrants praise!
