Description: Bygone Beautys Treasured Teapot Museum & Tearooms is nestled in the village of Leura within the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area and is home to the world's largest private collection of teawares. There are more than 5,500 teapots in the collection, spanning five centuries and including teapots from all over the world, most of which were collected within Australia. The Treasured Teapot Museum reflects and preserves the diversity of Australian tea-drinking culture. Everywhere you look you will see teapots and tea-related artefacts, old and new, rare or common from Australia, America, Asia, Africa and Europe. Teapots are made in a range of materials and are all on display including china, silver, silver plate, pottery, fine porcelain, cast iron, bakelite, decoupage and textiles. Enjoy the selection of teas and partake of lunch or light refreshments, served with olde-worlde charm. Devonshire Tea is the house specialty or indulge in a Traditional High Tea. Between February 2014 and August 2015, Bygone Beautys undertook major extensions and renovations including a new museum space featuring more than 5,500 teapots (some debuting publically for the first time), function room, formal tearoom and retail area specialising in all things tea-related. The revamp has been steeped to perfection and is now ready to savour. Museum Admission: $5.50 per person and is redeemable with an equivalent purchase in the tearooms or retail area.

Went here recently and was really disappointed with the hot chocolate and sandwiches as part of the High Tea. Cakes, and scones in particular, were yummy however there was only 2 choices of sandwiches, one of which was cucumber (I think) however was mostly butter. The hot chocolate was very watery too.
This said, the museum and sitting amongst 5,500 teapots make for quite an experience. Not forgetting our highly entertaining waiter Jason.
I would go here again however wouldn't spend the money on the High Tea

If you are a fan of scones like me, you must try the Devonshire tea at Bygone Beautys, Leura, located a stone's throw from Leura Mall and Leura Rail Station. I had the tea several years ago and am delighted to find out that the scones with their special jam and clotted cream more than lived up to my fond memory! The teapot museum is newish - not there when I previously visited - and I got free access with the tea. I had lots of fun viewing the hundreds of teapots and taking pictures of my favourites. For a souvenir, I got myself a pair of lovely tea mugs.

Never fails to achieve a high rating for myself and husband. I just love the renovation of the cafe and museum. The displays were as excellent as ever such a delight to visit. The devonshire tea was up to it's usual fantastic standard. Well done AGAIN.
