“Spectacular location”
Reviewed 24 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Lovely, well equipped property with truly stunning views that you would never get tired of. Not too far from Ards Friary beach and walk. Owner was very professionally with correspondence and quick to respond with queries when booking - would definitely recommend to others!! :)

“lovely home from home, beautiful scenery”
Reviewed 18 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

lovely place to stay, very family orientated. There is something to do for all ages. The scenery was fantastic. We bit hard to find, but directions from Caroline were spot on. I stayed with my mum and dad, sister and husband and their 2 children, all under the one roof was fantastic, and something to do everyday, everything well signposted. In some of the other reviews I saw that Roses Bar in creeslough was recommended for food, I can vouch for that, beautiful and very well priced. We also went horse-riding in Dunfanaghy, great day out had by all.

We stayed here with our 4 children aged 10,7,3,and 1.And our young labrador.
The house itself was very well laid out for us,and had everything we needed, although as we forgot there were stairs, and therefore didn't have a stairgate with us,it presented a bit of a problem with our baby, just a little reminder for anyone staying with very young children.
The sofas were extremely comfy, and there was a selection of dvds and videos to watch.I only wished there had been patio doors in the sitting room as there wasn't actually anywhere to sit in the house and enjoy the gorgeous views-you had to sit outside to appreciate them, and we got a very wet week. Also the lack of an open fire was really disappointing as it would have been very nice to curl up in front of a warm fire on a wet and windy evening.

Unfortunately the garden was unsuitable for our lot,as the usable lawned space was small, and there was a steep drop into many fern-type overgrown weeds, and nothing to stop a young child falling into it.Also the dog,who regularly ran through the weeded area, got many ticks. The kids couldn't kick a ball around as there was so little space, and it just ended up in the weeds,so you couldn't get it back anyway.

The house was a good base for seeing the surrounding beaches and towns, and Ards Friary, which were all lovely.however, nothing was within walking distance.

With 4 young kids to entertain, and bad weather most of the week,we were not really able to make the most of the beautiful beaches surrounding the area,so travelled to letterkenny a lot to the mini zoo,and lurgy brack farm.

Its always a big risk booking a holiday in donegal if you are wanting to get outdoors,as the weather is usually wet,and unfortunately we got a bad week, but for older couples,or people travelling without children,it would be a great get away as McDaids is very secluded, quiet, and relaxing, but for us it just didn't work out.

Difficult to find - but worth the hunt !!! Views stunning -- pity not better out door seating !! House/Cottage fantastic -- would live there full time no problem -- family room great -- beds comfy would have taken home but wouldn't fit in suitcase!! Tv etc took some sorting out to get only channel 5 -- Internet although advertised we did not manage to get access. Great place to stay to explore Donegal -- fantastic beaches/walks in the area. Would recommend Rosie's Bar in Creeslough for all meals -- breakfast / tea / coffee -- great friendly service !!! Locals very friendly and helpful -- had a wonderful time not long enough tho-- hopefully back soon -- Many thanks to Caroline

We rented property from 4/4/15 to 12/04/15 with extended family of all different ages. Everyone had a ball. There is so many outdoor activities to do in the area from mountain climbing, walking, sight seeing to sitting in the front garden and taking in the beautiful views from the house. The wee town of Creeslough are very friendly people and would recommend Roses Kitchen for beautiful food. The house was very clean and full of amenities from towels extra bedding etc. Thank you for a lovely time, we will be back :-)
