We stayed two nights at this B&B, which consists of just one room, and would have stayed longer if our itinerary had allowed! The accommodation consists of a bedroom, lounge and bathroom and is very private, with it's own entrance. The garden is charming and it was very restful to sit outside with a cup of tea listening to the birdsong, after a day of walking. The facilities are top notch, including Egyptian cotton towels, a spa bath and a power shower. Breakfast included toast and croissants, fresh fruit and cereal. Other nice touches included fruit cake on arrival, fresh milk and a jar of biscuits. Liz and Mike were helpful hosts, with lots of information on the surrounding area. Good walks included Mair Park to Whangarei Falls, Mount Parihaka and the splendid Quarry Gardens. As the B&B is a 10min drive from the city cent, you'd need a car.

We stayed recently here with Liz and Mike for two nights. It was a large spacious space set on a quiet street adjoining the main house surrounded by one of the most gorgeous gardens I have ever experienced. Liz and Mike were gracious hosts and everything was top notch. The "unit" is comprised of three large self contained rooms with everything you could need. Highly recommend. Breakfast was simple but for us fine. For those who like big kiwi breakfasts, you may want more but otherwise excellent.

Room tip: There is only one "unit" and it sleeps a maximum of three (one king and one fold out sofa).

We stayed 5 nights with Liz and Mike at Binnowee B&B whilst attending a Tree Crops
Conference in Whangarei. They are superb hosts.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend this accommodation.

The garden location is peaceful and welcoming.

Room tip: One room only - ideal for a couple looking for a quite relaxed ambience.

My wife and I recently stayed for one night at the Binnowee b&b after booking it through the local information center in the town. The place surpassed the information we were given at the time of booking. We were made very welcome by Mike and Liz on arrival and were very impressed by the many additional touches that were available to guests! Home made plum loaf and chocolate biscuits were available in the breakfast room for instance. The bathroom came fully stocked with all toiletries which really impressed my wife. We would recommend this b&b to anyone looking to stay in the Whangarei area.
