I agree that this street has a lot of Historical Structure, but I just wish somehow make the street a little more modern, But I guess that's Ballarat for you

This is a street of wonderful, imposing colonial architecture. It sings to a city which understands that heritage is a top tourist attraction and of immense value to the future.

A walk down Lydiard Street to just admire the architecture is worth a visit. Raise your eyes to first floor level and study the ornate facades of these buildings. It is quite a stage set and a vision of bygone times...
It's a tribute to the City that they have retained such splendid buildings...

The street cuts through Sturt Street (the main thoroughfare) and is lined with some magnificent historic buildings including the infamous Craigs Hotel with it's beautiful interior classy design, the Miners Exchange with it's decorative wrought iron facade and grand Art Gallery. Towards the landmark train station are some blue stone convict brick building fronts which make great photographs.
