Rooms were a little on the small size but fully equipped and stocked with a fridge, microwave, coffee plunger and a full dinner set for any meals eaten at the motel. Shower facilities were good, the place was located close to town....(5 min walk) and the bed was comfy. Reasonably priced and the only set back we had was trying to get our laundry dry. Ended up taking it to the laundromat by the Subway store. Would recommend it to folks who were thinking of staying a few days in Te Anau.

Room Tip: BBQ facilities available, milk supplied only on the first night and use the laundry room at the rear of the property.

The room was clean and huge and has everything you need. You can park your car right outside as well. The location is a shorty drive to town if you plan to visit the glow worm caves. We were also picked up at the accommodation beside ours, when we travelled to milford sound.

This is a nice basic little motel located just aways from the main tourist traffic to ensure a quiet and peaceful stay. It’s a short few minutes walk through the park to the main town and eating areas and the same to the lakeside. Room size was quite spacious with decent sized separate toilets and bath. Cleanliness was very good and towels and linens all very fresh. A mini fridge is provided but if you need to cook, there is a communal kitchen and laundry as well. Surprisingly, there was a small hi-res TV and wifi was free, unlimited and quite fast except that you can only log in three devices.

The staff were helpful and friendly and fresh milk was provided on the first day. For the price, this motel provides a good location without the lake views and good quality of sleep. Recommended.

We happened to stay here four years to the day after our first visit to Te Anau -- when we stayed here as well! The motel has been renovated and expanded since then and this time we had a room with a kitchen area and a veranda, where we enjoyed a sunny afternoon knitting and reading. I think it was warmer here because it isn't right on the lakefront. The main attraction of this motel for us is that a short walk through the gardens takes you right into the heart of Te Anau's main drag, which was perfect for both breakfast and dinner outings.

We enjoyed our stay in Parklands (Te Anau) because we wanted to visit the Milford Sound. The owner (Shona) was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in the studio unit #9 that had a pretty view of the park and mountain. The room was clean and bed was comfy with basic kitchenette. There is a cooking area in the open area behind my studio unit that is available for heavy cooking...(stove area) . Laundry and sauna is available for a fee. I loved their beautiful roses in the compound. Walking distance to the town and lake about 5- 8 minutes walk. There are 2 supermarkets (one of them is called the fresh choice supermarket, under the same umbrella of Countdown) and many other eateries and shop and a gas station (petrol) in the town centre. Quiet small town and beautiful lake. Left our rental car in their parking space and picked up our tour to Milford Sound. Shona (the owner of the property) even had recommended that I could put my food items that needed to be refrigerated in their fridge in the communal kitchen and picked them up when we finished our MS tour. Thanks to Shona for being so hospital and helpful !

Room Tip: Studio unit 7 to 10 has a view of the park and mountain.
