The hotel is good and the front desk people are very nice. It is not the best motel in TeAnau. I do not remember the name of the next door motel but they were better. I do not know if they offer breakfast

Room Tip: We stayed in the room above the reception and it was great ( studio as they call it)

Stayed for 2 nights in early February. Nice mid-range hotel with very large rooms. the buildings are older, but the rooms are well-kept. Staff was very friendly and able to arrange reservations for area attractions.

My lovely wife and I spent the night at this motel after hiking the Kepler Trail. All in all we'd been camping or staying in huts for over two weeks so we were more than ready for a comfy and a hot shower.
While this place certainly isn't anywhere fancy, it did the job very nicely in the circumstances. We left feeling clean, refreshed and almost human again! A bit expensive at NZ$160 for the night but then again that does get you a little apartment complete with living room, kitchenette and a bijou dining area. And while it isn't going to win any style awards, it is clean and comfortable enough.

It's important to book ahead in this part of NZ at this time of year, because as you drive through practically every hotel/motel displays a 'No Vacancy' sign. Particularly in Te Anau, which is tourist central.
This place is close to the lake and all the attractions, easy walk to most. Also near supermarkets and galleries. Reasonably sized rooms (separate bedroom is better than many places), well-equipped kitchenette, comfortable lounge room, bathroom smaller than other places, but a separate toilet was a good feature. Restricted wi-fi was annoying. Laundry facilities were good. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

We rented a small one bedroom apartment for two nights. The owners gave us a warm welcome and assisted us in booking a trip to Milford Sound.
The apartment was clean and comfortable if a little dated in style. Kitchen was well equipped. Lounge area was comfortable with seating and tv. Plenty of hot water for showers. Bedroom had one double and a single bed. Wi-fi worked well. Parking for one car directly outside unit. Information pack in 7nit was very informative.
