We had never played ski before..so when we stayed in Queenstown..we had 1 day free,so we chose ski.
The ski fields area Remarkable,coronet,cardrona..but we chose Remarkable, cause we were first time player.
We took first time player lesson package at One stop, next to Station Building. It was already with transportation, helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, poles, ski etc..and also lessons.
We had given 4 hours lesson, and my teenager kids loved it so much..great experience in great place with great sceneries..

Thank chrysantha

The access to the slopes is near by/easy, but overall information and organization is basic. NZski advertises a lot for first timers, but let me warn first timers, keep expectations low.
Booked online thru NZSKI- initial response was slow, and after payment (which again has to be thru a form filled scanned and e-mail with all credit card details), the response was non existent. They did not confirm the date of my private lessons, and then messed up the date, having scheduled it one day before actual. The lady at the Station shop was cooperative and helped restore our lessons however.
Transportation includes an additional charge for hotel pick up, and is quite good.
However, u need the "mypass" to get ride back to and get off at your hotel and then go next day to the Queenstown NZSKi Station shop to obtain your refund which is given only when u return the "mypass" card. Never heard of this.
Private tutors and most staff at the slopes are part timers and have no detailed information for first time skiers. This is disappointing.
Private lessons are costly, moreover u can be allocated a part time student tutor, who is good at skiing but just cannot impart training. That's what happened to us; although one Katey Lane was exceptional in the lengths she went to make up for this.
Bus departure time was 4.15, but there are no sign boards at the departure location indicating which bus goes where. Buses almost always depart late and there are large lines.
The layout of change rooms, rentals, lockers and toilets at the entrance is haphazard and inconvenient.
Food at the top is snacky and lovely as well as quick.
My above review is not meant to put off or berate nzski, but is meant as guidance to fellow travelers. I would still ski again at Remarkables, as the overall New Zealand friendliness and hospitality is there to experience. (Katie Lane, thanks again)

Shoutout to Celia, the snowy angel for helping us put our snow chains on so we could send it down the slopes. Celia, you are an absolute legend! Thanks a bunch.

I would definitely recommend going here if you want to ski. I booked the beginners package and had Will as my instructor. He was hilarious and very good at helping you gain confidence. I booked this through happy travels or something along those lines in town and got all my gear from the one stop shop. Helpful guys and get you everything you need. The mountain itself was great. Multiple areas for beginners and advanced people. The cafe was super expensive as expected so maybe pack a lunch if you want to do it on the cheap. We had such a great day weather wise so maybe try and check our the forecast a head of time. Definitely worth a visit though.

Visited in in early June because it was the only place that had snow. Glad I did because its a great little resort with a good variety of trails - probably best suited for beginners to intermediate skiers. Very easy to access from Queenstown, It took me 30 minutes (self drive) from the middle of town to being parked at the top. Road was in good condition, just beware the last few k's are hard packed dirt/gravel not bitumen. There are buses (free) every few minutes to ferry you from the car park to the lift entrance.
Lifts are fast and easy to access. All the staff were friendly and seemed to genuinely be happy to be there (it was the opening week though). Adult day pass was $119. There are no entrance charges and the food & drinks were very reasonably priced - something the Australian resorts could take note of!
