Enjoyed our tour and tour guide, very knowledgeable. The house and the furnishings were very interesting along with the story and history behind them.

Thanks for the review. Yes its a good family story which folds in the big story of the emigration flow of previous generations through Europe and down to Australia and New Zealand. .

Really beautiful historic home, well maintained. I loved the tour and I want to go back with my mum who loves art as there is lovely art. Garden is nice too.

Beautiful house, furnishing and decor. The house and everything in it are a snapshot in time, lovingly curated and preserved by the Theomin family, and now by the city of Dunedin. A world-class attraction.

Our guide was excellent, the information he shared with us was fascinating and he was happy to provide extra detail when asked.

The house is well worth a visit for the view of Dunedin life a century ago, life in the upper echelons of society at least. Original decoration and furnishings and a huge collection of art and artifacts from around the world make every room fascinating. The one hour tour of the house was very interesting - but didn't give us nearly enough time to look at everything. The tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic but kept whisking us along to the next stop on the tour - it would have been nice to have a bit more time just to take it all in.

The house is very full and their is always more to see even when you have been on multiple visits. It is almost impossible to take in everything in one visit., Lucky locals get a chance to come on multiple visits or specialist 2hrs visits.

The guides work hard to stay within the hour allocated for a tour and provide a good experience for visitors. It is a difficult t to find the balance of time to view and the cost to provide that experience. One hour suits the majority of people and they find their visit good value for money. So sorry that the standard tour did not provide such a satisfying experience for you.

When in Dunedin, this is a must do. The house is beautiful and left as it was when the last owner past away, The collection is of an amazing high standard. The guide tells a lot about the history and the family. It is really nice to see so many English things and style is this Dunedin house. Special place to visit.
