Stayed at the Grand Windsor in Auckland CBD, the hotel has recently been renovated and has a nice boutique feel to it. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately for the hotel the main issue for me was the noise from local clubs and bars nearby. This went on until 5am and i found it difficult to sleep with that constant base beat and loud voices. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night so had the worst nights noise. Might be better on weeknights or be prepared with ear plugs.

Good Morning Simon

Thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and for your review.

While you comments about our hotel and staff are much appreciated, I am disappointed about the impact the noise has created on your stay. Could I request you to please contact me on nivzer.dadabhoy@hotelgrandwindsor.com to discuss this further as I am committed to ensuring you receive value for your stay.

Our senior management teams have worked tirelessly with the council and neighbouring businesses to bring the noise levels down significantly, however there is bit to go.

Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm Regards

Excellent boutique hotel in an excellent location just minutes from the water. Rooms a touch smallish but furnished well. Nespresso machine a nice touch. What was impressive about this place other than the physical part was the service. From Jenny who checked us in to Pablo the concierge, to Richon the night concierge. All of them were simply great. Nothing was too hard, and everything done with a smile ! the big boys in town cam learn a thing or from this place. Well done guys and thank you.

Room Tip: Choose a bigger room.

Doorman is great. Big and friendly to all (even Asians!). The location is central and while the hotel is being renovated, it is still very grand. The only I can suggest is that there is too much furniture in the room. Some minimalism would be good.

We live in Motueka and were visiting family in Auckland so travelled by train (using a free new Hop Card) into Auckland city for a "look see".
Walking up Queen Street we were delighted to find the Grand Windsor Hotel. Feeling peckish and curious we enquired as to whether we could just have a coffee - Yes. Further enquiries revealed . . . AND at $ 4.00 per cup.
Unbelievable.
The ambience, (1930's,) and staff were excellent so decided to have lunch there as well. Could not fault the staff, the food or the way in which they catered for our every need. Better than the Dorchester in Mayfair, London. !
ps. We counted 9 staff involved in serving us for two mains, two coffees and two Cocktails - - all for less than $40-00 each.
We visit Auckland yearly so now know where to take family for a "treat" at a very sensible cost and VERY pleasant surroundings.

Excellent service from check in to check out. Very friendly staff and beautifully decorated room and lobby. Highly recommend the spacious and very comfortable junior suite. The hot welcome drink at check in was a nice touch.
