Stayed in Honey Apartment 2 with 3 other mates for 2 weeks.
The location is perfect for walking around CBD. Great cafes & restaurants within a 2 minute walk, plus many many more as you walk out in any direction.
Apartment was clean on arrival and supplied with towels and there's a washing machine and tumble dryer too.
Would stay here again and definitely recommend. Thanks!
We were recommended this Apartment by my sister who had previously stayed there. We weren't disappointed one bit. The apartment was clean and very central to everything in the city. From trains, buses, trams, shopping, restaurants, cafes, casino etc, they were all in walking distance. Kirstin was attentive and very easy to deal with. The place was clean and was well appointed with everything you would need for your stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying at this apartment and hope I get the opportunity to return to Melbourne and the Honey Apartments again soon.
We stayed in Honey Apartment 2 for two weeks. The Queen Street location was very convenient making it easy to walk everywhere in the city. Trams, trains, buses only minutes away. The photos and descriptions are very accurate. Kirstin responded promptly to all emails and texts and when we met at check-in, found her to be very friendly and professional. The elevator, wifi, tv, washing machine, separate dryer, foldout clothes drying rack, dishwasher, portable heater, etc, all helped to make our holiday in Melbourne all the more enjoyable. One small thing would be a firmer mattress in the front bedroom but that's just a personal preference. One of my favourite places was Le Petit Gateaux a very authentic French patisserie, at 458 Little Collins Street, just a couple of blocks away. Delicious! And of course all of Melbourne's laneways and arcades are a must see. Thanks Kirstin, we enjoyed the apartment very much.
I've been staying with Kirstin at the Honey Apartments during the Comedy Festival for more than ten years now, but I've only ever stayed in apartment 2 once, when I couldn't get apartment 1. It's still a great place to stay for a longer trip to Melbourne.
The location is perfect - there's two decent sized supermarkets and a handful of smaller ones in easy walking distance. There's a 7-11 over the road for anything you need right now, whatever the time, and you can get to virtually any tram line or the trains in less than five minutes. Flinders Lane is full of fantastic little shops, cafes and restaurants, and it's a great place to just wander, as well as being a quick way to get to Queen St or Swanston St.
It's also an area where I've always felt safe, even coming home at ridiculous hours of the night after a festival show. The police are two blocks away, and there's never been any trouble that we've seen. Having the security door on the apartment building adds an extra element of safety. It's pretty quiet around there at night anyway, though.
The apartment itself is great. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, a neat little kitchen and laundry. I love being able to stock the fridge and not have to eat out every meal during a longer stay, and having the laundry makes packing so much easier. The lounge/dining area is a pleasant place to hang out, and, unlike a hotel, you're not sitting on someone's bed while you do.
Speaking of beds, they're all comfy and the bedding is ample for cold nights, with extra quilts and blankets supplied.
Kirstin and her family keep both apartments in great shape, and they're always fantastically helpful, before, during and even after the stay. One year, my flight was cancelled, delaying me in Sydney, and Kirstin was a great help, letting one of the friends who was staying with me (and had flown down earlier) collect the apartment key. They've come around to change lightbulbs for us (halogens are difficult), arranged repairs on short notice, and let me check out late when my flight wasn't leaving till later in the day and they didn't have anyone else checking in that day.
It's a great place for a couple of friends, or for two couples, and it'd be great for a small family, too. Larger groups, I'd send next door to apartment one :) Honey Apartments really give you the feeling of living in the city, not just staying there, and I hope to be back there next year!

Honey Apartments are conveniently located on the corner of Queen St & Flinders Lane. Set in the Art Deco 'Madison' apartment block, Honey has the perfect balance of being close enough to everything you need while still offering a retreat from the CBD.
