Thoroughly screwed over by an absolute jerk of a manager and poor communication between staff. We had a booking organised 2 weeks prior for a reoccurring event. They said it was fine. We got there on the second week, only to find that not only had they cancelled our booking without telling us, they'd also moved us to the dining room (which was completely unsuitable for our needs). When we said we wanted what we'd booked, they told us they didn't want reoccurring bookings, and they didn't want us. Something about a pub being a place to have a meal, despite the fact that all 8 of us always ordered something

Had a table booked for the evening, was contacted during the day to confirm the booking because there was another event they said would be finished before we wanted our table. We confirmed saying we still wanted our table, however when we showed up and tried to sit at our table they tried to seat us in the public dining area and when we said we needed the more private table we booked the manager told us he didn't want us there and told us to leave.

We had a recurring weekly group booking of 10 people organised with this restaurant. We specifically asked for a quiet table to the side as we were needed quiet for the weekly meetings but we all ordered food and drinks as well.

On our second booking, the organiser received a call earlier in the day, explaining there was a wake on that day but our booking would not be affected because they should be wrapping up as we arrived.

We get there and are told that we have been moved into the loud, busy dining room because of the wake. We told the staff about the phone call and they tell us it was a mistake and they don't know why we were told that. We tell them that the dining room won't work for us. The manager comes over and very rudely tells us that our business is no longer wanted and they don't want large recurring bookings (keep in mind we were coming in on one of their quietest nights when there are a lot of empty tables).

I understand that a wake could take priority, but if we had been called earlier we could have booked somewhere elsewhere and we would have understood. Instead they didn't apologise for calling with the wrong info, and were very rude to us after we couldn't take the table in the loud dining room - even though we had made it clear we needed the quiet corner table when we made the booking.

Terrible customer service.

Some call this malt pie, the crack pie, and I can tell why. It's made with spent grain and other delicious by-products of beer making. A really special treat. Great to see these small, cosy pubs are still around. None of those fancy, over-priced burgers here, just simple, honest, stuff
