I'm in two minds doing this review. What a wonderful old building in an excellent location, an easy walk to everything you could need including the CBD and waterfront. However, being an old style residence with wood floors it is noisy if you're in suite 1 on the ground floor. From our experience you will be aware of any movement in the apartment above, hear everyone enter and leave the building and street noise is significant. The bathroom is "down the hall", quite small and perhaps the provision of robes would help make access to it a little more comfortable. There was no reception for several free to air channels on the TV - its amazing how the only show you want to watch is on a channel you don't have! The bread, cheese etc on arrival is a nice touch but no water or a jug for it is provided. Upstairs is probably better but I can't recommend suite 1 for a restful stay
As a family of 6, (mum, dad, nanny and 3 children aged 7, 5 and 3), we often find it difficult or extremely expensive to find accommodation to house us all in the one place. Roxburgh House is fabulous.
The accommodation was very clean and welcoming. It offers off street parking, a washer and dryer (very handy when travelling with children!), central to CBD, docks and the mall. Woolworths is a couple of blocks away. There are plenty of food options in walking distance as well as a bottle shop just around the corner.
The bedding configuration was great, the beds comfortable and the apartment is very spacious. We had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Hobart especially with a large family.
