his is our third time to Hamilton Island - we love it there! (and so do our kids). However, this apartment is not value for money. Upon entering we turned on the AC given the heat (important up in North QLD) and found two AC units did not work. The manager organised an AC tech to attend. He visited and was able to restore one of the units but the other would need parts. He commented the units are so mouldy (which is visible) and never serviced since he installed a couple of years ago. The mould was so thick that half the fans in the head units did not work and were blocked. Second issues was the TV. Our young boys wanted to watch ABC Kids (good to keep them occupied while we unpack). However, both the free-to-air and Austar did not work. Given my tech background, I was able to restore the free-to-air with some magic with the cable. Oh yes, it needs a new coax cable. The Austar was out the entire week stay with an error indicating the owner had not paid the bill. The management claimed the owner was aware but they obviously do not care. During our stay we noticed an abundance of maintenance issues - top dishwasher drawer broken, two ceiling fans not working, light bulbs blown, fan speed knobs missing, door handles broken, badly damaged walls throughout, blocked sinks, shower head hose split and leaking water, window shutters broken, dining table damaged, BBQ at the end of life and a golf buggy with a low battery warning light that would often come on after a full night of charge. My recommendation - block the apartment out for a week to address the maintenance issues and the owner can then justify the weekly rental cost. We have previously stayed with extended family at the Yacht Club Villas and the Shorelines. I would highly recommend these properties over the Pinnacle Apartments. Apart from the negatives of the unit, we had a fantastic time on the island. Make sure you do the turtle snorkel off Catseye Beach - awesome!

Nice location in that it's halfway between the beach and Front Street, but really run down. Not well cleaned (lots of dirt and rubbish from past guests under and behind furniture). Bathrooms are mildewed. Sheets and towels are scratchy. Dining room table is buckling from heat and moisture. Ice maker in the freezer is broken, and looks to have been for quite some time. Not much of a view to speak of. Honestly, for the amount we paid I'd have expected a lot nicer accommodations.
