We stayed here for 1 night in the Deluxe Studio. The accomodation itself is excellent - great views, modern and clean room (hence 4 stars). Although a few frustrations - on arrival no one greeted us. Check in/customer service was below average - I had to ask where to park (which was in an open, unshaded, distance car park). No concierge, which would be ok if you had minimal luggage. I also had to ask where to go to get to our room, no directions or information provided. It'd be unlikely I'd stay here again given the inconveniences.

We checked in to the hotel, only to find out that Townsville was going in to Covid lockdown. The hotel were amazing when we decided 2 hours later to check out, full refund. We tried out the pool, clean but a bit chilly and the rooms were great with 2 double bed, perfect for a family of 4, just not in lockdown!

I really like staying at the Vile resort and have just been back for the second time. It has the best pool deck area I have seen anywhere in the region. Rooms are good size and on sea side of building have spectular views. A few disappontments this time though - I wanted to go for a sunrise walk but the breakfast venue doesn't open until 7 so no early morning coffee, also the room service trays in the corridors were left all day. Would certainly stay again next time though. Also I wouldn't order room service from Mrs Song's again as it was amazingly cold - I had waited so long for it though I ended up just eating it but itw as not a good experience.

The airport to The Ville is about a 10-15 minute drive. $18 in an Uber on the way in and $27 on the way out - go figure!

Check-in was a breeze. The view from the room was to the north overlooking Cleveland Bay toward Magnetic Island. One of the best hotel room views I’ve ever experienced. The resort has all the usual trappings - multiple restaurants and bars and additionally a small casino. Staff were mostly all friendly and helpful. I only ate in the Spin Cafe and the Quarterdeck where the food was OK without being great. Prices were typical for a resort. The pool area is beautifully laid out and inviting. The only small criticisms I have is that there were 2 ice machines on separate floors, but if you weren’t staying on either of those floors your key wouldn’t allow you access. Seems like a waste of time. Also there wasn’t a resort shop for incidentals like snacks. In lieu of that service could I suggest placing a vending machine in some out of the way place so guests could buy chips, nuts or cans of soft drink without having to pay those in-room prices!

Overall though, a great stay.

Room tip: Bring any snacks you might require with you when you arrive. Ask for a sea view room.

Stayed five days. The staff were friendly. Some of the new ones have a bit to learn. I don't drink and an not a big gambler, however I was staying in a suite and had money to spend in other areas. The more astute ones picked this up and treatment was appropriate, some new young staff were dismissive which is not good. They only had eyes for the high rollers. Pool and grounds were lovely and the location is perfect as you are apart from every thing
