Enjoyed a week at the Grand Chancellor. We had a 1 bedroom apartment. The room was very comfortable with everything we needed. The buffet breakfast was excellent! - highly recommended!

The location is great - close to everything

Staff took the time to meet all our needs, including upgrading us for a bigger room. The restaurant meals were delicious and staff obliging. Pillows a little hard for my personal liking but understand this can happen.

On the second day we arrived back to the room and nothing had been done. Wet towels on the floor and new towels left inside the door and no housekeeping. Called reception, not much interest and said they would’refer’ it back to housekeeping

Room cleanliness was average. (Located used towel hanging on rear of bathroom door, old dirty sock in bedroom cupboard).

I don’t recommend the buffet breakfast if paying full price as food was luke warm and cold by the time you got to your table. Fruit platter uninviting as what was uneaten the previous day was put out again the next even when the fruit was turning ie. blackened pineapple, over ripe watermelon.

Room felt dark and dated, the couch had no cushions but a couple of modern coloured ones would certainly brighten up the room. Bathroom on first impressions looked good but shower screen constantly leaked badly requiring spare towels to soak up the excessive water. Without the spare towels would certainly be slip hazard. A lot of mould and water scaling buildup around shower screen.

Our king bed was comfy and so were the pillows. This is what saved the review and generally we were only at the hotel to sleep, shower and have potentially nice breakfast every morning. But again the latter was average and suggest eating breakfast somewhere else. We had a two night stay in a room on level 7. Walls are thin and can generally hear noise beside and above you.

The staff were pleasant but given the oceanic rugby players and support staff also staying at the hotel, the occupancy was full and the hotel would of unlikely been able to change our room. We chose this hotel on the reviews, location and for its median price point but will stay somewhere else next time. Just in this instance our stay has not been as positive as some have previously experienced.

Staff were so friendly and helpful during our 2 night stay. Nothing was a problem. We will definitely be returning and recommending Grand Chancellor to others.
