We loved our four-night stay at this unique bed and breakfast accommodation. At the end of each touring day, it was a joy to return to our serene, private cottage surrounded by lush tropical plants and the sounds of nature. The spaces, both inside and out, have been thoughtfully put together to be shared with others. Thank you, Fairlie and Mark, for your warm hospitality, for taking such good care of us and, of course, for those wonderful breakfasts on the deck. We will always remember Tabu as a very special place.

Thankyou Susan for your kind words. It was lovely indeed to have you and Don stay. The Frogmouth and his wife send their regards and we hope you will give our regards to Minnesota. (Seems like some very nice people live in that part of the world!).
All the best Mark and Fairlie

My husband and I don't usually do the bed and breakfast thing, as we are typically so on the go. Tabu's beauty forces you to slow down and enjoy the tropical landscape. Mark and Fairlie perfectly balanced care and attentiveness with allowing us time to soak in the wonder of their B&B. Their breakfast was outstanding, the room and bathroom were a tropical oasis. The back yard garden is an outstanding personal "zen" space and has redefined gardening as an art form for me. I can go on and on. We could make the trip to the opposite end of the earth just for a longer stay at this place. Thank you Mark and Fairlie!

“supremely comfortable and lush”
Reviewed 30 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We stayed for 3 nights and were made to feel very comfortable and welcome by Mark and Fairlie. The surrounding gardens are amazing. You will need your own transport as it is out of the main Cairns CBD, but this means its quiet and very relaxed. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

“A little piece of paradise”
Reviewed 19 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

What a wonderful, relaxing, tranquil, beautiful, place. One is surrounded by exotic tropical plants and you can see a few creatures as well, a local frog can be found in the brush. Recommend a dip in the plunge pool at night, a great vantage point to look up at the stars!.
Breakfasts were just what was needed - great fresh fruit, an egg and granola.
The hosts are very welcoming and assist with tours and things you may need.We had not booked a car, but with the help of the hosts, they were able to book us a car and as well, get a great deal for us.

“Fantastic B&B”
Reviewed 3 January 2017 for a stay in December 2016

Cannot rate Tabu B&B highly enough! Fairlie and Mark are amazing hosts and made us feel at home the minute we met them. The accomodation is large, beautifully decorated and situated in the middle of a lush, tropical garden filled with beautiful birds and butterflies. Breakfast is delicious and hearty; we had eggs, toast, fruit, yoghurt, juice, tea/coffee but there was also muslie, meats, cheese etc if you wanted and all enjoyed sitting on the deck outside your room. Mark and Fairlie gave us a tour of their gardens and a few cuttings to take home and terrific advice for our own garden. We highly recommend staying here and can say for certain we will be back.
