A very popular night spot and also very popular for morning coffee and breakfast. The staff went above a beyond to make our stay a positive experience. Food is great, location is great. Only negative I would say is that we weren't told there was live music every night and till late Thursday and Saturday, however I would stay there again but would make sure I was on the quiet side of the hotel.

Room tip: If you are older and don't like late nights ask for a quiet room.

Just like a country pub except that it was in the CBD of Darwin. Flavoursome food, icy cold beer and a great beer garden. Despite being busy we appreciated quick, friendly service. Worth a visit whilst in Darwin.

Alway good for a cold beer and relaxing time. Beer garden is spacious perfect for mild nights. Great music and good crowd. Country pub feel In the middle of the city. Well worth the visit every time I come to Darwin.

The emphasis seems to be on the bar and food and accompanying loud music and Sunday access for all to the pool - all at the disadvantage of the hotel guests. The room was run down with no sound proofing - so you can hear the coughing of the guy next door and cannot sleep for the music from the bar. The bed was big and comfortable but room was not cleaned in the week, sheets not changed as stated and towels changed haphazardly despite following instructions. Kitchen was big with plenty of pots and pans and burners but no forks, plates or bowls or tin opener. We took our tin to the bar to be opened and were told the kitchen was too busy and to come back at 9pm! Smoking on the balconies drifted into the room when the door was opened. They were very good about apologising and giving a refund when we moved to another hotel on the Sunday night and we wished we had done this sooner. On the Sunday the bar had a DJ so loud that our room shook, the poolside was filled completely by visitors to the bar and live music was due to begin at 9pm - hence our move to another hotel. Very disappointing for us and the other guests we met.

It is in a good location. Center of town with a short walk to lots. It is an older pub but a friendly pub. Rooms and amenities were clean and a they have fixed the hot water. Thank you. We arrived from Singapore at 6am. We were tired. We got to the Cav at about 8:30. Too early to book in. (2:00pm) . The lovely lady at reception went out of her way to get a room cleaned up for us. They were full the night before. She had us in a bed by 10:30. How good is that . Thank you. We had a steak that night and it was superb. Drinks reasonably priced as well. If you are looking for a great old pub with great food and a great Assie smile then we recommend this icon of Darwin known as the Cav to locals.

Room tip: All rooms are around the pool. Away from the bar would be quieter. Music stops earlish.
