Owner description: One of the Waterfront's coolest attractions is the Wave Lagoon: a palm-fringed swimming pool that turns into a tube-riding, boogie-boarding bucket of fun when the waves roll in every 20 minutes. The fully patrolled Wave Lagoon is two metres at its deepest point and slopes to a shallow area of still water, perfect for families. Bring your book: there are plenty of banana lounges, beach umbrellas and shady patches of lawn. Aqua Zumba classes every Sunday from 9am are a HUGE hit with tourists and locals alike.

Absolutely loved my time at wave pool. So much fun. Very little ones for entry. Safe place with kiosk around the corner. Friendly for family and kids. Loved it

On a hot sultry day in Darwin there is hardly better fun than the Wave Pool. In the heart of the CBD, at the entrance to the wharf, it is big enough for a large crowd. There are ample lazy boys to lie on for those disinclined to get wet, or those just taking a break from the see-sawing of the waves. Entry is budget-priced so whole families can enjoy the action any day of the week from 10am. Loads of belly boards and inflated rings are dotted about for those not so sure of their swimming prowess. Take a picnic or imbibe from the kiosk, the facility is well catered for and clean. Smoking is prohibited. A word of caution, remember to slip, slop, slap, as the Darwin sun is vicious, beware of sea-sickness if you have that tendency and wear sunglasses if possible.

The Wave Lagoon is a heap of fun. It costs adults $7 and seniors $5 for the day. When you pay you get a tag around your wrist. You can then come and go all day.
There does need to be some more lounge chairs added as these were in short supply however there is plenty of shade. Toilets and change rooms are outside the complex but nearby.
There are boogie boards and tubes available to ride the waves. A siren goes to signal the waves are starting. The waves last for some time. It makes playing in the water so much fun. The water is warm and while it does get to a depth of 2metres there is plenty of shallow area for kids to play. There is also a seperate splash area for little kids.
