Nice beach. There’s a seawater pool down the far north end. Swimming was available between flags at either end. Some shops close by and easy access from Sydney via the ferry. Not the most amazing beach in the world but it’s nice.

Hello Mrs_Fer and thank you for visiting Manly Beach, Sydney Australia!
Yes, the ferry is a great way to get here, a scenic 30-minute ride.
Next time try one of scenic walks to other beaches such as Queenscliff and Freshwater Beaches just a short walk north of Manly, or Fairlight beach, along the Manly to Spit walkway – super local and quaint.
Hope to see you again soon,
Much Manly love.

Take the Govt ferry over to Manly beach from Circular Quay ferry terminal. When you get of the ferry , you will have to walk through the quaint town with restaurants and shops before you arrive at the beach at the end of the town . Lovely area to spend time on a beach that isn’t so hectic like Bondi Beach. The restaurants are the usual fast food but I found Blue Ocean restaurant was a great value , happy hour and the meals are large enough to share .

Visited this at many different times during different days and it was always a pleasure and always a hive of activity, whether people running, cycling, surfing , volleyball etc. It is always clean and well looked after, if I could afford it would buy a place looking at this every morning when I woke up! It has to be one of the best beaches I have visited and will return at my first opportunity!

We went to Manly Beach a couple of times during our stay in Sydney. Although Bondi Beach is well known throughout the world, many Sydneysiders catch the ferry from Circular Quay, by the Opera House across to Manly. It has nice shops and bars and is relatively flat, which is great if you can’t walk too far.

Really lovely beach used mostly for surfing. The ferry from Sydney Harbour roughly takes 30 minutes. Going to the right one can start the Manly Scenic Walk and get a nice view over the northern beaches.
