We stayed here for 1 night and had a comfortable room with a view onto the rear gardens. We were lucky that there was no large group celebrating as we suspected that the hotel has only modest sound insulation.
The hotel is situated in an old manor house as it name implies and as such you have to accept things such as inadequate sound insulation and small slow lifts. The building has a lot of character and has a restaurant on the ground floor which we did not use. We did walk around the extensive grounds and could imagine that in years gone by it had a very grand life style.
There is plenty of parking on site and is far enough away from the motorway to ensure that we were not bothered by traffic noise.
Would I stay here again? Probably!!

Decent hotel in a very nice setting. Room was clean and comfortable. In room Tea and coffee provided. Stayed two nights, meals were very good although service was very slow on the first night. Convenient for cruise passengers.

We arrived before the check-in time so we chose to wait in the lounge/bar area. The staff member working the bar apparently was filling multiple roles as he came and went (mostly went) quite frequently. In fairness, there was a baby shower and a wedding reception going on (and perhaps a 3rd party as well), so the staff may have been stretched a bit thin. Our room was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was a buffet, but with a good selection, and the food was hot. We worried a bit about the elevator. It is small and very slow. One couple with suitcases is about all it can handle. Our room was in the newer annex overlooking the garden area. That would have been lovely if it were not for the noise from the party going on. I can't say for sure if it was the wedding reception or some other party, but the music was loud and it went on quite late. The building, itself, is quite lovely, and the grounds are very nice. Perhaps if we had visited some other time . . .

Room Tip: I don't think room location makes a lot of difference here, just ask if there are any parties already booked.

We got married here on the 31st of August, Jo and Adam were extremely helpful and professional on making sure our big day went perfectly. Steve and his kitchen team produced amazing food all day. Thank you all for such a brilliant day!

I stay here c.70 nights per year and it is always good - polite, helpful staff, nice location, good gym. Food and drink are well priced for a decent hotel, grounds are very nice too and relatively quiet considering it's just outside a major city. Easy road links and good parking.
