After months of deliberating i finally zeroed in on the Royalton Riviera for a family vacation.
Our family consisted of me,my wife and our two kids aged 5yrs and 14months.
Our priority was a nice kids pool,good food,babysitter services and a nice room,and we were not disappointed.
as soon as we reached the hotel we were immediately greeted by an usher whose first words were welcome family dont worry about your luggage,i will take care of it all, he took us to the diamond club check in area and took our back packs from us as he saw we had been on a long flight.
the lady at the check in offered us drinks and cold towels and made us very comfortable.
seeing that our kids were getting cranky she expedited the process and we were checked in within 15 minutes.
they gave us these amazing bracelets that act as your entry beeper to the room.
so no more worrying if you took the room key card with you.its always on your wrist.
the room was chilled and the mini bar was stocked up with awesome goodies.
i have never ever experienced the level of service that is instilled into ALL employees of this hotel,everyone was absolutely wonderful,going out off the way to show us the way or helping us with anything that we needed.
i have to add that we had frozen baby food that we carried from home and it had to be out into a freezer for us to take some out everyday and thaw,
our butlers Aaron and Roman were the most amazing help we could have had.
RESTAURANTS:
Grand Marche
fantastic buffet for breakfast,lunch and dinner.Thomas and Anthonio and Rodrigo were amazing servers.

Opa
fantastic Mediterranean food.Daniel was an amazing server.

Agave
fantastic Mexican food.

Zen
Japanese and sushi grill was awesome.Jesus was our server and he went out off the way to bring the chef out to meet us after i told him we are also into the restaurant business.

Nibbles
Tiny food place that supports the kids splash pad area with good food like burgers,hot dogs,tacos etc.

the Caribbean an Armadillo restaurants were not that great as the food was sub par.
The hotel has a kids club which is basically like a Montessori where kids of all ages can be together and spend the whole day everyday when the parents want a break.kids do activities like craft work,face painting outdoor activities and etc.
the kids club staff is very professional and meticulous.

the kids splash pad is probably the best i have ever seen anywhere with a huge kiddie pool and very very fun.

the cleanliness of the hotel is at a different level and anyone who has anything negative to say about this property has maybe extremely high standards which could be considered superficial.

We will definitely return and would recommend this beautiful and wonderful hotel to all our friends.

Room Tip: Family with kids might want to stay closer to the kids splash pool area.

Laurie from Trip Guy suggested the Royalton for our family vacation. My wife and I traveled with my son, daughter-in-law, and my three grandchildren, aged 7 1/2, 6, and 3. We were booked into the Diamond Club which really made the trip special. Because we were in the Diamond Club, we had our own expedited check-in, butler service (special thanks to Christian), and pool areas. We had reservations for dinner every night so we didn't have to wait to be seated.

The hotel itself and the grounds are beautiful and exceptionally maintained. The restaurants each had a distinctive flair; our favorite was Agave (Mexican). The buffet for breakfast had every imaginable food available. For lunch we either went to the buffet, which was excellent, or stayed around the pool and ate from The Grille (hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, quesadillas...).

We had a wonderful time, full of great memories. If you are traveling with young children, this is definitely the place to go.

Room Tip: Diamond Club rooms are more centrally located, convenient to pools and restaurants.

Our 5th trip to this resort. Still great service, rooms, food and amenities. Beach had some seaweed. They would clean it up but we prefer the pools anyways. Member services stand outs were Ana Puala, and the two Linda's. Staff and waiting service was also excellent. Never waited for a drink at the pool.

Room Tip: Unless you like to walk, Building 1 at the Hideaway or Building 8 and 9 can be challenging. Our favorites are 6 in the Diamond Club or 7.

We stayed here for a few days as my daughter got married here. The hotel it's very large and busy but you can't fault what it had to offer. It's very clean and rooms beautiful lots of restaurants , pools and plenty of seating even if you are up late. Food was excellent although the lunch time pool grill and nibbles place was very poor. As this place was very busy service was hit and miss. But was a very enjoyable few days although it is very expensive. Would I go again ? No only because of its size and not really liking Mexico as a holiday destination.

Overall experience was wonderful.Lots of seaweed at the beach but knew this going in. Pools are amazing, Highly recommend buffet if you can’t get into the restaurants. Hydrotherapy spa is top notch! Just do that, it was the best!
