Owner description: In the beginnig it was a convent then it became a fortress. To remember this Monastero Bormida Castle still has it's bell tower. The actual building has a '600 front and a '500 lodge on the back which you can visit. It belonged first to Carretto family, then to Della Rovere and Polleri. Now it is property of the municipality. To enter you still have to pass trough the ancient drawbridge and door
