The Rovos Guesthouses (Manor, Seaforth, and Homestead) are an undiscovered gem on the southern shores of Cape Town! After a few days at a large hotel in the middle of busy downtown Cape Town, we found a peaceful getaway to relax and enjoy the natural scenery of the Western Cape.
We stayed at the elegant Seaforth house in the spacious, and well appointed, "Farmer" room which has unobstructed views of St. James beach, Kalk Bay and historic Muizenberg.
Situated on the warmer waters of False Bay, St. James is very popular with surfers and sophisticated locals. Shopping and excellent restaurants are a short walk away from the guest houses in Kalk Bay. We would recommend hiring a driver, or renting a car, as taxis are not always readily available.
The house was immaculate and, with only three beautiful guest rooms, had the feel of a very comfortable private home, not a hotel.
The staff were all very pleasant, attentive, but never intrusive.
We will certainly be back!More
