Just got back from my first trip to Thailand and felt I had to write about this restaurant. My husband and I at first felt we should be going out to find some authentic Thai food. We ate at some great small low key thai places but it's not really the food you go to a nice restaurant dressed up for an evening, if that's what you fancy. So on our last night we went to Breeze. It was a quiet night for the restaurant and we quite frankly couldn't understand why. The service was very attentive and the cocktails were great. It's outside so mosquitoes are out but they kindly offer spray if you had forgotten.
I read previous comments about lamps, but I have no idea what that was about, I smelt nothing. The décor of the place is lovely, very romantic, great views and good lighting.
Then onto the most important bit the food! The chef is French and he’s inspired, this comes through in the cooking. We live in the middle east where gourmet food is all around but I would say that this food was even better than some of the top French fusion restaurants we enjoy here. The mix of modern French and Thai influences was done to perfection. Even when we were totally full after our main course, the chef came out to talk us and you can see how passionate he is about food. He’s obviously a good sales man too as we ordered the desert, a white chocolate and apple mouse concoction, which was divine. If you are staying in Point Yamu by Como the hotel will bus you down to the restaurant and pick you up, so I would say make this place one of your stops at least for one evening, it’s worth it. It’s not cheap but it’s a high end restaurant and compared to other restaurants we ate at in the hotel and in Patong City, this place was, to us, by far the better quality for the same price.
