This is a great clean beach. Very long, with plenty bars, cafe's and restaurants. Well worth a visit. It's a nice long walk from one end to the other.

The beach is well connected with buses going to Valleta, Cirkewwa, Mellieha and nearby town Buggiba Bay. The beach is also called Ghadira Bay and has a long sandy shallow coastline ideal for children. I went on the last day of March, and although it was sunny and 20 degrees celcius, there are still plenty of seaweed on the coast, making it unattractive for visitors and patrons alike. The beach has facilities like restaurants, toilets and sun beds for rental. Water sports are available too. The sand is grayish white, but is fine. Maybe if I went in the height of summer, the seaweed would have been disposed of and lifeguards would be around to patrol the place. Be careful going off season as I've found several broken bottles in the sand.

Lovely sandy beach with plenty of sun beds and brollies. Small food kiosks that are not rip off prices.

We stopped at the beach for a short break and swim - there were plenty of facilities and the sand/ sea were both clean and easily accessible from parking on the nearby road. Lots of kids swimming in the area and boats segregated from swimmers, so well managed.

Even in March the water was clear and not too cold. The wind had a slight affect but it was warm and sunny and our hotel was conveniently placed. Not the biggest however and I could see it getting packed during the summer.
