“Some issues need attention otherwise good location family house”
Reviewed 6 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Central Fylinthorpe location, good family house close to pub
Found parking difficult, limited spaces on road
Door bell obstructs front entrance and was falling off
Wifi unuseable in living room as router in top floor room, needs Wifi access point/powerline adapter/better router with antennas.
Shower only just hot enough
Found beds too short and too small.
Bath small

Management Response
7 Apr 2016
Thank you for your review. I'm surprised and disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay with us. For the avoidance of any doubt, however, I'd like to confirm that the beds are standard double and singles. The bath is also a standard sized bath. The doorbell is located to the side of the front door and the issue of it 'falling off' will be dealt with immediately. The shower will also be looked into as we have only ever received compliments on our shower. As far as I am aware, the Wifi is the best available under the circumstances and the rural location however, I will be looking into this.

Kind regards

Sally

“Cosy Cottage”
Reviewed 8 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Had a lovely 3 night stay, cosy cottage with everything you need. The fire was an added bonus after a chilly walk at the coast. Our daughter didn't want to leave. Walking distance to a pub serving good food and nice ales. Ideally located to visit Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby, Runswick etc.

“Nice property in this popular tourist area”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Booking and communication with the owner was all fine. The house is very well decorated with lovely artwork, comfy beds and a cracking shower. The house sleeps six but due to the layout of the kitchen there is no dishwasher or dedicated freezer (only a small one at the top of a standard sized fridge). This didn't detract from our stay but is worth a mention if you intend cooking more than a few meals.

Due to the proximity to Robin Hoods Bay this is a busy little village, and as such you can easily walk to the bay, as we did on a couple of days. The only downside is parking outside the property, which can be a bit hit and miss during the busy summer season - par for the course I guess.

The WiFi set up is poor but I think the owners are hoping to try and resolve this. Overall we had a lovely stay at Ivanhoe and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice home-from-home holiday cottage.

“Wonderful cottage, wonderful location - home from home”

Perfectly positioned to explore the North Yorkshire coast, we have just returned from a lovely week in this comfortable cottage. It is really well equipped with everything you could need and the wonderful artwork makes it feel less like a rental and more like a home. I would certainly hope to return as there is so much more to explore in the area...

“Outstanding!”

What a wonderful gem! A beautiful house in a fantastic location. Place was immaculate and all needs catered for with instructions given for heating etc and even local events highlighted including pub quiz days! 3 spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds made the stay even more of a home from home. The house is within easy strolling distance of Robin Hoods Bay and driving distance to local beauty spots including Witby.
The communication from owner made the organisation of our trip seamless. Cannot wait to go back!
