If you're going on a Bank Hol weekend then be EARLY as the car park soon filled up. I was impressed by the bridge you enter on and the ceilings within the hall. Some of the staff are jobsworths but I think they are voluntary so well done to them for that !!!

We had a great Easter Sunday afternoon with my husband and children (9&5). However, if the Easter Egg trail had not been on we would have struggled to have stayed longer than an hour or so. Lovely walks and attractive pleasure grounds but not much to entertain 2 energetic children! We are NT members and we use our pass frequently but we wouldn’t return. I would not pay the entrance fee for what is on offer.

The drive up the the house and car park is lovely! It certainly sets the scene for what is to come when you visit the house.

The house is a shameless display of wealth that you can tell was all about showing off! Every room is grand and impressive, but I can't say the volunteers were very engaging (only had one that actually seemed happy to chat to us).

The 'oriental' collection was fantastic, with great craftsmanship on display from various parts of the world and truly help to offer something more than it being just another stately home.

Sadly never got to see the marble Hall as it was closed the day we visited.

After quick look at adjacent church went for snack lunch. Restaurant small and busy but still served quickly. Food brought to table rather than being self serve. Cream tea was very nice with freshly baked scones.
Hall itself is magnificent inside. Lots to see and read about Lord Curzon's family home. The pictures attached will illustrate what I mean, showing magnificent architecture and ornate treasures.
Well worth the visit

Visited here with a friend and decided to have a rest in the cafe after our long walk around the grounds.

We plumped for cream teas which consisted of a lovely large warm scone with a pot of clotted cream and jam. We were served by a really friendly lady who told us she actually bakes them herself on site!

Looking forward to re-visiting in the spring!
