We visited Garlands as we had our friends up from London and wanted to do something a bit different. We booked the hour shooting for £32.50 per person as it was absolutely brilliant! There were four people in our party and two of us hadn't shot before but this really didn't matter. Mike was our instructor and was superb! He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and also really friendly and reassuring. We got round four different shooting sections and all had 6-7 shots on each. This really is a great activity at excellent value. We didn't eat at the little cafe but the homemade cakes at £1.00 per slice looked delicious! We will definitely be back and will try the cake next time!

My wife booked us both on a 25 shot session for a birthday surprise, the booking was easy and Terry was very helpful when advising as a first go, no hard sell etc.
when we arrived we were made to feel really welcome, we were introduced to Alan who was our teacher for the session and he was brilliant, patient, knowledgeable and made us feel really comfortable.
We didn't hit every clay but had a good go despite the wind blowing some of the clays about (that's our excuse anyway!) and thoroughly enjoyed it, we will definitely go again
The shop had some interesting stuff in and the cafe had some nice home made cakes which were served with a nice strong cup of tea. While having a drink we overheard another instructor talking to some people who were just about to go and shoot, he was very passionate about the sport, a good all round experience and would definitely recommend if you are looking to have a go at it

If you are looking for a place to go clay pigeon shooting you could do a lot worse than going to Garlands. The actual shooting facilities are a bit rough and ready although the targets/shooting disciplines are quite varied. The café and shop are very good. I have been a couple of times now and have found the people there are very friendly and helpful.

great range of shooting ranges and field sport set ups.
Very accommodating staff, who took us around for a 50 bird shoot at a moments notice. Really friendly and fun, even in the cold.

After a long day in a conference room at a nearby hotel, this was just the ticket for a way to get rid of some of the pent up frustrations - not many places give you a loaded shotgun to play with!! Bit rough and ready but loads of fun and fresh air.
