Visited over half term in Feb for Valentines and both mine and my other half birthdays. Lovely, peaceful setting in beautiful grounds.
We received an upgrade to a suite out on the grounds, which felt like a cosy log cabin, with a tranquil little garden. Perfect for us to catch the sun and relax before heading out to the marina.
If you don't want to be right on the marina then this hotel is perfect, only €9 in a taxi or if you feel like a walk it's around 45 minutes - would not recommend walking in the evening as there isn't much street light or side walks.
We had lunch twice in the hotel, both times very good food and we can't fault breakfast - fantastic. Fresh fruits and juices, pancakes, variety of breads, pastries, cereal and a full English set up. Always a good start to the day!
The only reason I can't give 5 stars is that the rooms and parts of the hotel could do with some renovations and upgrading. Everything seems quite dated. The jacuzzi, steam nor sauna were working at the indoor pool. The mini bar in our room contained two waters, one coke and one lemonade - not much of a mini bar! Also, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
The hotel states being a 5 star, but it's more like a good 4 star.More
