The downside of this hotel is the very unorganised restaurant.
Breakfast mediocre
Evening meal very disappointing. Severe lack of imagination of the chefs part as so many repetitive things and some nights no potatoes in any way shape or form appeared. Desserts were a joke as only jelly and the odd cake every night some the same as the night before.
The staff were very slow when refilling items if they did at all.
would not recommend anyone to go Half/full board , perhaps just bed and breakfast.
Overall a very nice holiday was ruined by the points stated above ad spoilt our holiday.
No one in our small party was excited about meals here, which is a shame considering all the good points of the hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a high sea view room, sun all afternoon into the late evening. A/C was no problem at all.

Average hotel. Asked for bed sheets to be changed 3 days in a row, on Day 4 they changed pillow cases but still not bed sheets... (not great bringing in sand from beach) Bedroom telephone didn't work to contact Housekeeping - service not great! Hope they change the bedsheets for the next guests!

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Dom Pedro Vilamoura. After reading some reviews on here we were apprehensive to visit but we had an amazing time!!

The hotel grounds are lovely and spacious and the pool is clean with plenty of sun loungers. There and no parasols but plenty of trees if you want shade. An idea could be to provide cushions for the loungers as they can be a little uncomfortable if you are lying on them for a long period.

Our room was large, bright and clean. It had a mini fridge, flat screen TV and coffee machine. There was also a large balcony. However no light which would be better to have for night time. The bathroom could be upgraded however it was fine and clean.

The breakfast was nice. It is a buffet style, however there was a slightly limited choice for hot food some days.

Location of the hotel is great. 10 minute walk to the marina and 5 minute walk to th beach.

The hotel lounge is modern with nice decor. The bar is also reasonably priced and there was entertainment on a few nights during our stay.

Check in was also simple and quick. One thing would be that they charge €25 for use of the safe, with €10 being returned on check out. I don’t think it is totally necessary to pay a fee for the use of this.

Most of the hotel staff are pleasant and friendly.

We had a great time at the Dom Pedro Vilamoura and would come back again.

We arrived at check in early due to an early flight. There was a ‘mature’ lady on reception who was very rude. My husband was told to collect his loyalty membership card upon check in. She told us she didn’t know anything about it and did not attempt to make enquiries. He showed her the email confirmation of this and she just shrugged her shoulders. She told us to come back at 1345hrs and the room may be ready. The membership card is supposed to offer an earlier check in and though we totally understand that this is subject to availability, the manner of this lady was downright ignorant. (Thoughout our stay we noticed she was like this with many other guests).

The bar and pool areas were really nice and the bar staff were brilliant. Thank you to all of them.

Breakfast was a shambles, on numerous occasions they ran out of cups and were unable to restock for at least an hour at one of the coffee stations. There was no egg station, which for a supposedly 4 star hotel is unusual and none of the staff in suits tried to find tables for guests. The staff clearing and cleaning table did their best and were friendly.

We couldn’t believe we had to pay for the use of the safe in our room! I cannot remember the last time I was charged to use a safe inside the room.

The location of the hotel is great.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor with seaview

Our 2nd visit to this hotel altjough it was 6 years since our 1st time. The hotel has had a lick of paint on the exterior in that time.
Staff were very helpful and friendly in all depts whether housekeeping / desk / restaurant.
Great selection at breakfast (we were B&B only) with only one gripe....those damn nespresso machines ! They always seemed to be problematic. Either half a cup no matter what button you pressed, they had run out of water so wouldn't work (water had to be manually filled by staff) and they are so slow with constant queues at them.
The outside area was just like we remembered...plenty loungers and lots of grassy area and you can move the loungers around to where you want and with trees offering shaded areas.

We would return happily but hope that the Nespresso novelty has gone by the time we do.
