Entry for 15€ even with the Museum Kaart. But great quality inside : temporary exhibitions and permanent works of great artists (James Turrell, Ron Muek, Richard Serra, ...)

Close to the sea in Wassenaar you'll find this modern museum. Opened around 2013 in a futuristic building, this museum is built around the collection of a private owner. In this museum you will see paintings, objects, installations and statues that can be categorized as modern art. Entrance fee is around € 15,- for adults (no free entrance when you present your Museum JaarKaart, should you happen to carry one with you).
A very spacious set up, with a broad collection. You receive on entrance a booklet with background info on most pieces of art on display. Very helpful. Enjoy!

Voorlinden was opened in 2016 by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands in typically Dutch low key, high quality style. This is a private museum which houses the personal collection of contemporary art owned by Joop van Caldenborgh. From early childhood, chemical industry magnate van Caldenborgh, held a passion for art. His collection is largely of contemporary works created during his lifetime. It is of unusual character and does not follow any rules of ‘how to collect art’. It is a passionate, personal collection and all the more interesting as a result. The building he commissioned from Rotterdam based Kraaijvanger Architects is deceptively simple and offset with a classic Piet Oudolf landscape design and garden. The collection, building and landscape setting beautifully realise van Caldenborgh’s vision for the collection to be experienced in close proximity, with as few barriers as possible. There are no roped off areas, no cluttered signage. It seems that in a career demanding international travel and affording many museum visits, van Caldenborgh learned a great deal about the experience of visitors and invested it here. This place is for people to visit and enjoy art and nature. It’s very simple, very effective and well worth a visit.
