The Views and location is great. Minutes walking distance to water, pool, bus stop and a few restaurants. Very friendly and helpful owner.
The washing machine broke down during out stay and they did our washing. Couldn't be happier :)
As the apartment is located at the top floor of the building, we enjoyed nice view to the bay of Marsaskala from the balcony and the living/dinning kitchen. We also enjoyed looking down to the beach. We could see people swimming in the sea and sitting on the rocks along the beach, also lots of boats sailing in the bay. You can look around the town from the roof top balcony too.The water was clean and clear to swim and we could see fishes swimming in the sea water.
Three bedroom apartment was good enough for several of us, a group of Italian and Japanese people, visiting and staying in Malta. We preferred to stay away from the busy Valletta and so we decided to stay at Marsaskala. It is better to have a rental car to move around the island and move to the Valletta, which we did.
The owner, Dario and the partner, was very kind and helpful for us to do the things. Only problem we had was the hot water supply at the shower room, but we found that it could be fixed easily soon after talking to the owner. We believed that Malta always has problem of water supply but it is not true any more since they built the desalination plant on the island, we were told.
It was very nice and enjoyable stay at Sea Front Apartment in Malta. We hope that we can go back there again.
The apartment is very well equipped and in a great location to relax and enjoy the views from the balcony.
3 spacious bedrooms, and a bright living / dining area make it an enjoyable place to stay.
It's about a 10 minute walk to the town but it's along the waterside so it's no hardship whilst enjoying the changing views with the tide.
Dario and his wife are very charming and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed.
Dario is a very competent host and is willing to go out of his way to accommodate / rectify any issues immediately.
The location : Very quiet, traditional Maltese (a lot of the properties in this area are 2nd homes / holiday homes for the Maltese that live further inland). We were made to feel very welcome by all the friendly Maltese neighbours and enjoyed socialising with them in the evening, they cannot do enough to help you. The sea is right across the road from the apartment with a handful of people swimming, sunbathing etc which was very convenient and it's a 10 minute walk in to Marsascala centre. Unless you hire a car we did find it a little challenging exploring the island from here, Marsaxlokk is 20 mins by bus, Valletta is approx 40 mins on the bus but if you plan on visiting Mellieha Bay it is close to two hours on public transport or 45 mins by Taxi. (Ecabs were amazing, book online using your phone, gives you an 'upfront price' before you book so both you and the driver are aware of the cost, no issues / haggling and the fleet are all brand new black cars, cheaper than the white taxis). The area is aimed at those purely looking to relax and absorb some traditional Maltese culture, it's not as busy or as commercialised as Silema or Bugibba but the centre does have an array of bars / restaurants and everything you would need.
The apartment: There are three flights of stairs in order to access the property which proved a challenge for my parents (72 & 70) but once inside the apartment itself it is quite spacious, one of the twin rooms does not have air conditioning which proved an issue even when using a fan but Dario did arrive very promptly with a portable air conditioning unit that we agreed to hire for 65 Euro over 2 weeks which was reasonable.
The open living space / kitchen leading to the balcony was great to relax (the sofa is amazing, deep and very comfortable) with a large electric fan to cool the room.
The power of both showers was a little disappointing as they were quite weak although adequate and if the weather is hot when you visit keep an eye on the amount of energy you use (air con uses a lot of electricity) but these are minor points.
There is a roof terrace with sunbeds and panoramic views of Zonqor point which we used and enjoyed on a several occasions but the main balcony was the highlight, to sit at sunrise, breakfast, sunset or in the evening and people watch, eat or simply relax looking out over Zonqor point was fantastic.
I'm sure, like other people who have reviewed this property would agree, you will not regret staying here. Dario will do his best to make sure you have a great holiday and if like me you have visited Malta previously and stayed in one of the main resorts this will be a more relaxed and authentic Maltese experience.
*If booking a taxi, use "Zonqor point restaurant" as the pick up / destination (50 metres up from the apartment)
