A score of excellent if only for the exceptionally good service that we received on arrival from the lady at reception. Nothing was too much trouble as she provided a welcome greeting following a long day of cycling to reach the hotel. We were immediately shown the secure storage for the bikes and our needs were fully understood and met. She even recommended a local restaurant and booked a table for us. Breakfast was fantastic and the location, the facilities and the comfort were all excellent.

Thank you

Castel Pietraio is a charming place in a beautiful location. The main buildings have been there for over 1100 years, but the guest rooms have been renovated such that the interiors are modern and comfortable. The pool is beautiful. The manager, Gabriella, was extremely helpful, assisting us with logistics, rental cars, finding restaurants - even with fitting all our luggage into our absurdly small rental car (if you are renting a car in Italy, be prepared for it to be smaller than you expect). Breakfast was very nice. We would gladly have stayed for another day or two if we had time - it was a relaxing and beautiful place.

we just happened to stumble upon on Castel Pietraio and stayed there for one night in July and we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are good, clean and all with a view of the countryside. Stayed there with my wife and my parents. The hostesses at Castel Pietraio were excellent and did their best to give us a great experience. They helped us book a table at a good restaurant close by. The swimming pool area is nice and it was rather good to be able to dip into the pool after a warm day. The breakfast was excellent with a lot a produce from local area.

We had a five day stay at Castel Pietraio in July. We hadn't booked beforehand and were lucky that they had rooms available. The place is quiet and comfortable and we received great service from Gabriela throughout our stay. The pool area was very good with almost no people during the day. You need a car in this location but if you have one it is close to most sites in the region of central Tuscany. The area is abounded by olive trees, vines and sunflowers and beautiful sunsets.

We spent 3 nights in june in Castel Pietraio. It is a real ancient and very beautiful castle located on a small hill, built just by the Via Francigena. It's surrounded by charming woods and vineyards. You can also taste and purchase wines from the property. Our room was clean, confotable with a nice view on the area. The pool is large and has a view on the nearby village (Strove). Breakfast is very good with some fresh fruits and home made cakes. Gabriella and the rest of the team are very nice and helpful. It is a perfect stay to explore that part of Tuscany. Monteriggioni is only 10 mins by car, and you can reach the highway Firenze-Sienna very easily.
