The restaurant is an excellent location right across from the Roman Forum. My waiter, Nemi, spoke excellent English, was very friendly and recommended some excellent wines and local craft beers. For beer I had La Piporra which was quite good. La Extremena also has an excellent Vermouth that is homemade and is among the best I've ever had. Drinks were served with a complimentary risotto and a delicious sauce. There is also a good variety of tapas on the menu which were all excellent. The chef and owner of the restaurant is very friendly and made me feel at home. I highly recommend this restaurant. The food and service was excellent and the location and ambience takes it to the next level. Next time I'm in Merida y will be sure to visit the Extremena and bring more friends for drinks and tapas.
