The staff and the clientele were very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent and some of the dishes were simple but inspired. The pub also welcomes dogs, so if you are out hiking of driving ( there is a large carpark) in the area i would recommend popping in, you will be welcomed

Lovely welcoming pub with a nice 'local' pub atmosphere and great home cooked food! Fire was roaring and dogs are more than welcome!

Called here while staying in the area, very friendly and nice food! Was surprised by the new houses which surrounded the pub they looked totally out of character.. seems like another lovely village being spoilt by inappropriate housing which put me off...shame

Called on Saturday evening for 20 people, they were a bit surprised but welcomed our booking. They went out of their way to welcome us for Sunday lunch, the place is relaxed and the food was just want you want for the family Sunday roast. Highly recommended.

We were in the area on holiday and visited the pub on the recommendation of our host. We found the pub instantly friendly and welcoming, allowing our dog to sit quietly under our table. The Wye Valley bitter was an excellent pint and we had good pub fare for dinner.
