We popped by for a drink after a visit to Dinton Pastures but after a lovely welcome and looking at the menu decided to have a bite to eat. The landlord clearly takes pride in the place and in training his lovely staff (my husband was v impressed by his approach to teaching a member of staff to pour a pint).

The food was delicious - I had the pan fried sea bass on a lemon, chilli and crab risotto, whilst my husband had the burger. And all for a great price!

Will return.

Hello Abssam, Thank-you for leaving us a review on TA. Also what a great picture of one of our best sellers, Pan fried Sea-bass. And yes we do pride ourselves here not just on the products but how they are served. A massive thank-you again and look forward to your return visit in the very near future. All the best Daryl, Katie & the team!

Visited for Sunday lunch, service was great, nice welcome by the landlord, we all opted for Sunday Roasts. My beef was very good, really tender and plenty of flavour. The chef obviously knows how to cook properly.
Can’t wait to return. Well done all

Visited The Wheelright Arms for Sunday lunch. Staff and food were good and worth a visit if passing. Only complaint was the portion size to cost, shave £3 or £4 of the roast and you will have great value for money.

Hello Daren Webb, Thank-you for taking time to give us feedback, we are currently trialing a few cuts of beef at the so some dishes may fluctuate in price in the short term. We do hope this does not deter you from returning. Please do not hesitate in contacting us on 0118 9344100. All the very best Daryl, Katie & the team

Really poor food. Disappointing quality and quantity. Shame, because it’s a great pub in a good location, but we won’t be back again. I really can’t remember such a poor pub lunch. Small portions and tired ingredients.

We visited this pub last weekend when visiting our son at University in Reading. We had our 10 month old Labrador with us and looked at various “dog friendly pub” reviews to find a recommended place. We were not disappointed- they gave us a perfect table with space for our pup to stretch out and made us very welcome. The staff were all friendly and chatty and the food was good quality. There was a reasonable but not massive menu although perfect for a lunchtime. Food came in good time and the quality was excellent ; all very fresh.
Overall, a really good experience but made by the friendly and laid back nature of the staff. Will visit again when in the area.

Thank John F

Hello John, Thank-you for taking time to leave a review, yes we love dogs here at the wheelies and very lucky on the location being so close to Dinton Pastures. The team are a very friendly bunch and always go above and beyond to make sure customers are comfortable. The back of house also work tremendously hard to maintain high standards and this review will certainly be shared with the team, they will all be ecstatic. All the very best Daryl, Katie & the Team!
