Really authentic tasty street food, cooked to order and very fresh with a good selection to choose from. The staff are lovely great decor and atmosphere.

Unfortunately not a great experience at El Nido. The venue is simple but nice enough and there’s a decent selection of Mexican-themed cocktails on the drinks menu, but not good enough to balance out the disappointing food.

After being informed that the restaurant didn’t have any pork, lemonade, certain sides, jalapeños etc. we decided to choose from the pretty limited number of dishes that were still available on the menu.

The refried beans weren’t refried beans, they were just beans. One of my friends had asked for guacamole in her burrito that didn’t come, and another friend requested mild spice but was then left unable to eat the incredibly spicy food she’d been served. No one finished their meal but when we complained we were ignored for quite a long time and then offered 10% off - not really good enough when we hadn’t ate more than a couple of bites.

So yeah, I wouldn’t bother. There are far nicer restaurants in Sunderland.

The chicken was grey and disgusting. Food was cold and tasteless. Ran out of certain foods and drinks, no pork, jalapeños, lemonade, cider and I'm sure I have missed a few. Nobody could finish their food- only had 2 bites maximum. I have never complained at a restaurant as would usually be too embarrassed but it was vile. We were offered 10% off which was a joke as we didn't eat the food! Avoid at all costs it's really not worth the time. Good reviews must be relatives or friends of the business as truly awful.
