Excellent location to visit the Valley and the vineyards, or Quintas, with the Rota do Vinho do Porto all the way down to Pinhao, with breathtaking scenery!
Pedro is welcoming and helpful host, and the house is not far from Sabrosa. The village is very nice, and with the heat in the summer nights, and the windows open, you get the usual country village noises: church bells throughout the night, dogs barking, cockerels early morning. The place is a real delight, with the added bonus of the added of the municipal open air pool at Sabrosa.
I can highly recommend staying at Casa Dona Fonseca.
