Booked paid £14 each took us to the Viking burial just a pile of stones we didn't even stop I think I saw them my wife managed to get a photo good views of the harbour on the way down then went to see a church stopped for ten minutes couldn't go in as the floor was dangerous so doors were locked
Then back to the village save your money and spend 10 minutes walking to the church which is set in beautiful surroundings
I wouldn't go again

We arrived off a cruise ship, to a very disorganised tourist office. We bought our tickets for the troll train and then waited for 45 minutes for the tram to take off, there didn't appear to be any schedule. Its get you around town, you don't stop at the Viking graves and you could easily walk to the old church and look out, I would give it a miss

Cute little train with audio commentary which takes passengers up the mountain side to the Viking graves (just a pile of moss covered stones), fantastic view of the bay below where our ship docked, the old church and of course passing by the locals homes. Great way to spend an hour for little cost. Book at the tourist office. Trains run regularly.

We were on a cruise ship stop at Eidfjord on what was unfortunately a cool and rainy afternoon.
We decided to purchase tickets for the Troll train to ensure that we had seen all of the small village and at least kept dry!
Tour was advertised as around 50 minutes but this included a couple of photo stops and also allowed for the fact that the train itself moves so slowly.
We had actually seen most of the village by a quick walk around on foot earlier but it gave the chance for some additional photo's from above the village.
We passed one of walking tours on the way back and were pleased that we had not opted for this as they were soaked to the skin!
One of the stops on the way back was at the church but it was locked and could only be viewed from outside due to damage to the floor inside that needed repairing.
The Troll train was ok and stopped us from getting too wet but on a decent day I would have opted for a more strenuous walking tour.
Would be a good option for any visitors who are less mobile as this is a very small village and you don't really want to sit in a cafe or restaurant if you are on a cruise stop as you are already over indulging!

This is a very very small town but if you venture out there is some wonderful scenery. The train is an easy way to get around if you don't feel like walking. You get to see Viking graves (pile of rocks) an old church, great veiw of the fjord. On the other side of the valley is a shop that has traditional musical instruments. It is an audio tour and a bit sparse. Buy your tickets at the information center.
