“The perfect place for R & R”
Reviewed 29 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

After a long drive from Calais, we arrived to a very warm welcome from Cathy. She showed us around her lovely, comfortable gite with all modern conveniences; we lacked nothing. Cathy provided a very welcome hamper of food and had stocked the fridge with some essentials including wine and beer, so that we didn't need to rush out to do a supermarket shop straight away.
The weather during our 2 week stay was hot and sunny, we had the occasional cloudy morning that once again gave way to sunshine and blue skies, this meant we made really good use of the lovely pool, and the varied seating areas outside, including the welcome shaded areas beneath the trees in the large garden; we occasionally played table tennis and badminton with the equipment provided. My husband and teenage daughter cycled most days, on beautiful quiet, smooth roads!
Leparon is a small, quiet hamlet a few km from la Roche Chalais with its Intermarche and many other facilities, there are many other towns and villages to visit a short drive away.
A lovely comfortable gite. I would not hesitate to return, or to recommend to others.
Thank-you Cathy

“Enjoyable rural retreat”

This traditional rural accommodation comes complete with all contemporary fittings including wifi which pleased my 3 teenage children.
The location is perfect for exploring the Dordogne with Bordeaux being an hours drive away. The ample size garden accommodates a secure swimming pool with all accessories and for the sporty types there is table tennis and a badminton net provided.
A BBQ is provided for alfresco dinning along with an outdoor table/ chairs all housed beneath a lit gazebo.
There is security lighting and remote control entrance gates along with double glazing which makes this accommodations safe and secure.
My only complaint is I didn't book long enough!
Bravo Cathy

“Fantastic gite with great facilities”

This is definitely one of the nicest gites we have ever stayed at. A family of 5 (3 boys aged 7, 15 &17), we stayed for 2 weeks at the end of July/beginning of August and had the most wonderful time. We were greeted by the owner on arrival and she left us a lovely basket of goodies so we could get by until our supermarket shop the following morning. The gite was more homely than others that we have stayed at but the biggest attraction was the private swimming pool. The large garden area was vey private and the older boys loved the table tennis and badminton. We did visit other places but didn't stray too far as we were all happiest when sat around the pool relaxing, reading and watching the boys have fun in the water. We would definitely recommend this gite to families of all ages.

“A great place to relax after a busy year.”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This was our fourth trip to this gite and each time there have been improvements made to the property. It is an ideal place to relax and the house contains everything you could possible need. This was our first trip with a young baby (6 months) and it is a wonderful, safe place to take a small child.

Cathy, the owner, has always made us most welcome and this year in particular we have got to know her better and learnt a lot more about life in France.

There are interesting places to visit although some of them are a distance away but we just enjoy the peaceful countryside and the chance to walk in the local area then relaxing in the garden and pool area.

Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone unless they are in search of the bright lights and lots of other tourists. It now feels like out second home and we hope to visit again next year.

“Wonderful”

We stayed for a week at this property and had a wonderful time. The owners greeted us with warmth and care and showed us round an immaculately clean property with great facilities and a wonderful garden and pool.

Three bedrooms, one double, one twin and a small box room were perfect for our family - Parents with 5 year old and Mum along too. The owners left us a wonderful selection of goodies when we arrived including lovely bottle of local wine, beers, water, juice and some basic provisions. The kitchen preparation area was a little small more than enough for our week's stay and all the facilities were in good working order.

There are lots of nice places to sit outside to eat, good stuff in the garden to amuse the little ones as well as badminton and table tennis for grown ups with an immaculate pool and garden area.

The information pack was very useful and the neighbours were very quiet (a cemetary!).

Highly recommended and very homely.
