“biggest cliffs in Europe, amazing view”

Absolutely fantastic, 4x4 recommended to get there, worth a longer detour. If you have more time, do not go straight to the end of the road, but go left few kilometers before. Road is rough, but you will arrive at highest point. Views are absolutely fantastic, thousands of birds nest on the cliffs and you will likely meet very few or no people at all. During summer puffins can be spotted here.

We went in September 2017 and the views were spectacular. It was wind and chilly, but the cliffs and views were gorgeous. I think some even slept in their car near the base of the cliff (next to the restroom). If you are afraid of heights, just don't go near the edge. The edge is roped off from tourist but he view is unbelievable. The road to get here was rough, lots of pot holes and some were narrow. Just be careful and take your time driving through here. Free parking. Fill up with gas before attempting to drive out here and bring water, maybe even have a picnic out here. There are tables, but no where to buy food or drink.

Extraordinary drive past wild country with huge striated cliffs and big drops if you made a false move in the car. Got there round midnight as recommended and walked for miles without seeing puffins. Millions of other seabirds of course. Big excitement when two arctic foxes started hunting the birds laying I
On the ground. Wonderful brief sunset when the sun went under the horizon for 40minutes.

Then back at the car saw about 20 puffins on the cliffs by the parking area. One posed obligingly for photos!

Went in early June 2016 (but it won't let me select that date)

I drove the entire country on my trip and this was by far the best spot to see puffins. They would hang out on the cliff edge and you could get as close as you wanted until you might scare them away (we were careful to give them room). See my attached picture which was taken with my iPhone with no zoom.

The views are breathtaking and you can see tons of different types of birds here. It's quite a drive but had no issues even with our 2WD Toyota Yaris. This is a must do!!!

We visited the Latrabjarg bird cliffs at the end of June while on a family vacation. It was well worth the 2+ hour drive from Isafjordur, where we were staying for that leg of the trip. The drive itself is an experience and once you get there you'll be treated to the most majestic cliffs swarming with thousands of birds. We saw many puffins, although they appeared to be a bit shy. I highly recommend taking this out of the way trek to the cliffs - you won't be disappointed!
